“special to see”

Do not try to hike to the lighthouse as often isolated for up to 8 hours by tides PLUS dangerous riptides which have been fatal to people trying to cross during even low tide periods. Beautiful to see from the parking area.

“Always a must at low tide.”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

Definitely worth a low tide wait. We have gone here 3 times with our young girls. Always a nice time despite the ladders to get there. Low cost to walk out and recommend paying to go up in the lighthouse. Great views and staff is great. One gentleman gave our girls an inpromptu lesson on the birds out at the lighthouse. Can't wait for our next visit.

“Lots of People Working Hard”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

Visiting the lighthouse was a highlight of the trip! The adventure over to the lighthouse is quite the experience. It involves timing the tides, climbing stairs, descending ladders, traversing bridges, and walking on the ocean floor at low tide. Once at the lighthouse Evelyn was a gracious host and gave an informative and interesting tour of the keepers house (which is being restored) and the lighthouse as well.

“East Quoddy Adventure.”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Traveling out to the lighthouse on the far end of Campobello Island is truly magical and awesome each and every time. We have been going to the spot for over 32 years and when on the island make two or three visits each trip. The lighthouse can be reached at low tide and is worth the effort to cross and get an up close look. The tides and water around this particular spot can be deadly, but careful crossing can be done safely even with children. Combining this lighthouse with West Quoddy in Lubec Maine gives the visitor a look at two of the best lighthouses ever. Must see!!

“exquisite”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

BEAUTIFUL views...if you come at low tide you can walk across to Light House...just make sure to come back across while it's still low tide...tide rises VERY quickly and you could get stuck there for 8 hours...as you CANNOT swim across!
