I have lived in NB all my life and have purchased cooked and live lobster from this shop. However, this past summer was the first time I had lunch there and purchased their lobster roll. It was full of chunky lobster pieces (1/4 lb of lobster goodness) with a hint of garlic butter taste. I was with 5 others who enjoyed their meal every bit as much as we did. It was fun to watch other customers eating lobster the way maritimers do....on a tray with newspaper and a bowl of melted butter and just digging in with their hands and the lobster crackers. Plan to eat outside , or take with you because there is no indoor seating, however, they are next to the beach and you can take a little walk on the beach after you eat.

Fabulous place to get fresh lobster at a reasonable price. We ordered it cooked and ate it at one of their picnic tables overlooking the bay! At low tide, you can walk off your meal on the beach there. It would be nice if they had more side items to choose from, but I guess if you get a big enough lobster you have no need for side items!

This beats the pants off other lobster rolls in the Maritimes, and we tried quite a few! There is enough lobster in this roll to make at least two of the portions given elsewhere. The bun literally groans with lobster chunks and the tasty recipe is superb.

We are not from here, and are used to hot lobster. We went into the shop looking to have dinner, and at first we actually felt kind of ignored. We asked what and how...but the girl behind the counter only said...' you can pick a lobster over there.' So we got ourselves an iced lobster, not knowing what was next...Then she put them on a tray, asked if we wanted butter..and that was it. Our "lobster dinner" was ready. No bread, no salad or other offerings. The cold lobster was very salty...we really don't understand where all those great reviews are coming from. We left unsatisfied and still hungry (we had 2 lobsters $16/18 ), so we went to another restaurant and actually bumped into another couple that had cold lobster 'dinner' and also left hungry.

If you have craving for lobsters, skip the restaurants and go to the Alma lobster shop. You can get amazing fresh, hot or cold lobsters for half the price you pay in the restaurants. We asked for hot lobsters, and had to wait for 15 minutes until they were ready; while we were waiting we walked on a nice beach nearby. Lobsters were probably one of the best we ever tried. First time I had more lobster meat that I could finish eating!!
