“A great surprise on a Sunday drive.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

A great place to stop and eat, delicious homemade soups and sandwiches. Great atmosphere and you can play board games should you choose to do so, and loitering is encouraged. I'm definitely coming back.

“Gem in Alma”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

This Alma spot is a gem. The accent is on homemade food with locally produced, fresh ingredients. It's part cafe, part blown glass studio. We've tried a wide variety of offerings on their menu, which changes with the seasons, and have never had a bad experience. They have gluten-free selections too.

We never feel rushed out the door, and the owners encourage patrons to stick around and relax. During warmer weather, you can dine in or on the back patio which overlooks a small brook. There is plenty of indoor seating too. The washrooms are always clean.

Some evenings, they have live music. It can be very busy on those evenings. There is a viewing gallery upstairs of blown glass and other pieces. It's very kid friendly. They have a changing table in the women's room stocked with diapers and other essentials. This is one spot we hope is around for the long haul.

“Great spot for Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

Stopped by for lunch yesterday as they had Chili on for this weekend. Without a doubt the finest bowl of meaty chili I have had in a very long time delivered with quick and friendly service. Only open on weekends for the winter as is pretty quiet in town during the week.

Worth a stop

“Not what we thought.....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

We read some reviews before trying this place and here's what we have to say - The pasta was tastey, the bread was a bit dry and the salad was not to our liking. It took a while for our food to come due to a bad ingredient in our dish and the service was quirky......If you are looking for a meal that is filled with meat, this is not the place! We also found the prices to be high for the portion size. I will add that they sell the most beautiful blown glass pieces in the loft above the restaurant.
