This restaurant - not cafe - is on a great site. We watched sea ottters on the dockside and almost walked into a black bear on the way through the Cove. Good food, but very busy in summer.

The food was not particularly memorable and too large portions for us. The service, after the friendly service we received in the bar, was not as warm. It's a nice place, particularly the booths. And it's set in fabulous place.

There is not a lot of choice for food in this area. This place is OK.

This is a restaurant that does things right: From its idyllic setting overlooking the pocket harbor in Telegraph Cove to its delectable fare, you would be hard pressed to ask for more. The restaurant is built on pilings over the harbor in a rustic yet elegant wooden building with a corrugated metal roof, which is an echo of the salmon saltery that once stood on the site. We ordered the seafood St. Jacques – salmon, halibut, and shrimp in a savory white wine cream sauce covered in velvety mashed potatoes and cheese, and then baked. The seafood was extremely fresh tasting. This is accompanied by grilled carrots and broccoli. Excellent! We concluded the meal with the caramel pecan flan, which is very rich and sweet, with pecans on top, and a cloud of whipped cream on the side. This was a great meal.

On a second visit, we ordered the Greek spinach pie appetizer, which consisted of a seasoned mixture of spinach baked in crispy phylo, and covered with feta cheese, onions, and tomatoes. A yogurt-based sauce for dipping accompanied. Wonderful. Next, we each had a bowl of seafood chowder, which is cream-based, and contains halibut and salmon, potatoes and vegetables. Points of warm pita bread are arranged in a star outlining the edge of the large bowl. The seasonings are a secret, but dill plays a prominent role. This is the best chowder either of us have eaten. The cheesecake is good, but has a thick consistency which suggested that white flour may have been used as a thickener.

Altogether, this is an excellent restaurant in a remote, idyllic setting, and I recommend it highly.

I ate here after a full day of whale watching from Telegraph Cove. The staff were lovely and attentive. I enjoyed my meal, it was filling and delicious. I felt my meal was reasonably priced.

Telegraph Cove is a destination spot for whale watching tours, kayaking and similar and we had low expectations of the restaurant as there isn't much choice here. However it's all good. Service with a smile, and the menu has several Greek-themed dishes. Turns out the cook (our server's dad) is Greek, so we tried the calamari with home-made tsatziki, and spinach pie as starters - both excellent. Salmon BBQ was great (smoked outdoors, available Wednesday and Saturday I think), although just the one dressing available. Ribs were tasty, and the prawn dishes were again fresh and well-presented.

Would definitely recommend after a boat trip.
