On a misty morning the boat left for Knight Inlet. It's a 2 hours boat trip, whoch gives time to get to know the fellow passengers. During that trip you get some information about bears and their habitat and a simple breakfast.

After the boat trip we switched to a silent viewing boat, that can get you close to bears without disturbing them.

Very soon we saw a mother bear with 2 2 year old cubs. First they were walking along the shore but all the sudden they jumped into the water and started chasing salmon.

It was an amazing experience and they got at about 30 metres close to the boat. We watched the who.e thing and took alot of pictures. In mezntime the guide gave us a lot of information.

Afterwards we had lunch, then we tried viewing some more bears (but didn't) and finally we returned.

The bear encounter took about 45 minutes but it was totally worth it. Bears chasing eating and sharing (tearing apart) salmon. Great experience! Totally wordh it!!

A wonderful trip with sweet, clever and very dedicated guides, Lindsye and Pacsalle.
We saw in addition to bears, dolphins, seals, eagles, heron, etc.
We sailed by motorboat 2.5 hours transferred to a barge which Lindsye and Pacsalle pushed most of the time.
It was a great trip, and not least because the two guides were really enthusiastic about their work and because they really tried to teach us

They deserve big tips.

We started off in mist at 5.50 am and saw dolphins in the mist in the bow wave on the way to Knight Inlet - wow. At Knight Inlet we saw a mother grizzly with four cubs - wow again. Then we got great shots of a Bald Eagle on the bank eating a Salmon. On the way back we saw dolphins and whales so we had a great day.
The guides know where to look and spend a lot of time trying to get you to the best spot. Recommended.

The guides knew where to find the bears and we were lucky to see two set's of mother's and cubs. The scenery was majestic and seeing these bears in their natural habitat's was absolutely amazing and well worth going. A must trip if you are up by Telegraph Cove.

This is a difficult review to write as our judgement is coloured by our journey to and from Knights Inlet. We were unfortunately the last couple to be collected for our day trip and as the boat was already over crowed (with us 16 on board but the vessel was only licensed for 13!) we were forced to sit on a bench type seat which had a shelf piled high with food and cups, plates etc for lunch immediately in front of us. There was little leg room for us and we could not sit comfortably as the seat was so small and tight fitting around all the items on the shelf. This was so uncomfortably that one for us ended up with quite bad back problems which persisted well into our holiday and made travel difficult. So the journey there and back to Knights Inlet was not good at all.

But we saw some black and Grizzle bears and were looked after by 2 very knowledgeable people so all was not lost!

We agree with you that the seats on the SILVER BEAR are tight for tall people. We have discussed this problem with the builder, Lifetimer Boats, who said that the original owner wanted sleeping area in the bow, so the forward dash and focsall are over large, thus robbing space from the seats. We are going to move the dash forward this winter to ease this problem.
By our log book there were 16 people on board: 12 guest and 2 guides inside, 2 guests seated outside. The number of people allowed onboard is a gray area. Transport Canada wants us to have adequate staff to handle emergencies. When running if fog we need the operator to focus on steering and a deckhand to assist guests. Our boats have 16 person liferafts and 18 life jackets onboard.

Thank you for your trip advisor review. Critical one like yours help us to improve our equipement and services.
