“Straight out of National Lampoons European Vacation!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

We walked in to the hotel to find no one at the front desk. Eventually someone showed up. This guy was like the guy from National Lampoons European Vacation!! First he told us he didn't have the right room. We told him we would wait for ours to be clean. He said his staff already went home!

Then he said we had to leave our equipment in the basement. I asked him how the locking system worked and he said, you just use your lock. Hmmmm? What if people don't have ski keys? Anyway, we got to look at the room and it was terrible. We said forget it and went to the Delta! Hotels need to know when to throw in the towel.

Room Tip: Don't choose a room at the Heffley!!

We stayed here with family as a surprize and were not too pleased. The rooms were dated/old and felt very cheap - there was not even conditioner in the room. Our shower head had about 1/2 the water spraying from the top, soaking the roof and everything outside of the shower. The beds were hard and the springs could be felt right through - even with using the duvet off the spare bed to cushion the one we were sleeping on. The walls are very thin (I could hear every word of the conversation going on next door) and the fridge had a high-pitched hum it made 24/7. Management was rude to my family - especially when a fax was needed to be sent - they downright refused.

We skied all day, so made (the mistake) of trying the adjoining Mexican restaurant. The food took forever, no nachos were served (as they advertise) as they had "run out," and our food was delivered cold. My husbands enchilada was "chicken" and had about 2 pieces of chicken in it - the rest was all rice. We had seen a few enchiladas come out before ours and they were huge - but ours were tiny. It seemed like they were running out of all ingredients.... We ended up going across the way to the Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory to pick up a few treats still as most were still hungry.

I'm not usually someone who writes poor reviews, but this is certainly a place I'd avoid in the future. Too bad, because with a location like that - it could have been so good.

Nice comfortable rooms. Beds a bit hard but some like that. Great customer service and very polite staff . Ski in and out was very cool. Lots of choice in restaurants close by.
Be sure to check out the chocolate shop and try the garlic chilli peanut brittle

My boyfriend and I came here after seeing a special on living socials. The employee at the front desk (Marlita?) was extremely helpful. We stayed a total of two nights and three days. The hotel was close to the runs which was very convenient for us as we had to carry our boards. The kitchen was small, but had all the necessity (no oven though). There is a jacuzzi and a sauna room on the first floor, open from 2pm-10pm (wish it was opened earlier though... couldn't use it one last time before we checked out). Parking at the front is $7.50 and underground is $15 (maybe there's a price difference during the winter time). Although it is a bit out of date, it gave a nice cozy feel. Would come back here again.

Room Tip: Ask if they can accommodate for a later check out time.

very well greeted by Manfred, quiet location , very clean and comfortable bed. There was a little hiccup with the hot tub, but was resolved by second night.Underground parking was optional for a $10 per night, well worth it since it was snowing quite heavily. First night for the restaurant, but we had all ready made other dinner plans. The smells from the restaurant were very appealing though, maybe next time. Very impressed with the staff , made us feel welcome, and were very polite.

We booked this hotel as a last minute accommodation for our race weekend up at Sun Peaks. Our room was very comfortable and large. Big bed, fireplace, kitchen, nice bathroom. More than we had expected. Location of the hotel was perfect. Right in the heart of everything. The front desk were beyond accommodating. We arrived late Friday night and they had everything waiting and ready for us and were able to accommodate a late check out on the Sunday so we could shower after our morning race. Looking forward to come back in winter time and experience the cute town that is Sun Peaks.

Room Tip: We had the King Suite and it was extremely roomy and provided everything we needed and more.

Sun Peaks is a great all-season resort. In summer, it's full of mountain bikers and golfers. In winter, skiers and boarders. We visited in the fall, and it was restfully quiet, both in the lodge and in the village (in fact, we were the only guests on our first night!). Great spot for a break from the frantic pace of life. Heffley Inn is right in the middle of it all, literally in the heart of the village. Shops and a half dozen or more restaurants are within meters of the door. Rooms are fairly large, most with kitchens or at least a microwave and fridge. The atmopshere is comfortable rather than luxuorious. The owner is front-and-center, taking care of customer needs....with a smile! Definitely worth a visit.
