Excellent breakfast, served by a pleasant server, great way to wake up before a day on the slopes! Great view of the ski hills! Good atmosphere!

“Bagels, Wraps, Panini's, Burgers, Coffee, TV”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

This place has a variety of menu options. From burgers to rice bowls made to order, 5-forty seems to cater to meat-eaters, vegetarians, and people who eat gluten-free. Considering everything is made when you order, the extra 5 minutes for your food is totally worth the wait. The staff are always happy and helpful if you have any questions or concerns. They can custom make whatever you would like, especially if you have picky kids. There is also a TV that plays action sports such as biking or skiing. There is a retail shop attached that sells hard and soft goods such as skis, jackets, gloves, longboards, t-shirts etc. This cozy cafe has a great atmosphere with a great local feel to it.

“Excellent food and coffee - vegetarian options available”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2013

We stopped here for lunch after doing a sled dog ride and before leaving Sun Peaks. The Kicking Horse coffee was excellent! And the Rice Bowl hit the spot. Unfortunately - they were out of veggie burgers - but they will make anything to order -like the Santa Fe rice bowl with no meat and extra veggies and hot sauce. I appreciate being able to order what I want, and I appreciate the nice laid back vibe.

“Best lunch place hands down!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

Have been here multiple times and the food is consistently good. I love the veggie cilantro burger! Delicious! I wouldn't go for lunch anywhere else at Sun Peaks.

“Awesome wraps!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

540 cafe is well worth the extra 60 seconds it will take you to walk there from the centre of the village. The service is good and the food is excellent. The wraps in particular are awesome, one can easily be shared between two people unless you are really hungry making it good value also. There is also a shop attached with a good selection of boards/skis/clothes etc.
