Stayed here on the weekend. Good location on the hill, location to Town Centre convenient, ski in and ski out access. Check in during the winter is 4:00 pm, check out is 10:00 am. We arrived at 5:00pm, check in was quick, front staff freindly. Parking was a challenge, front and side of hotel outside was full, underground was also full, you have the option of parking at free lots a few minutes away. Not the hotel's fault that some people park in such a way that others can't get in, but with displayed parking tags, they could contact these guests to properly park their cars to free up some space. The hotel has 2 elevators, only 1 was in service the 3 days we were there. Ski lockups were available with locks, skis not allowed in rooms. Hotel room was fine, clean, 2 double beds, a small recessed desks with one chair, one chair by the window, no real sitting area for 2 people to sit together though. The room has a coffee maker, but no safe, flat screen TV with a DVD player connected to it.. Housekeeping service was fine. Newspaper was free and delivered to door. My wife enjoyed the soaps and lip baum included with the bath amenities. Restaurant/bar was okay, service a little slow for a half full facility. Would I stay here again, for the price yes, it met my needs, but I would show up earlier to ensure I got a parking spot.

We thank you for taking the time to post a review on your stay with us and are happy to hear you enjoyed your time at Nancy Greene’s Cahilty Lodge.
The elevator has now been fixed and we wish to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you during your stay.
We have passed your friendly feedback on to our front desk and housekeeping staff and are currently in the process of discussing how we may manage any future parking issues; however this does prove to be quite difficult during the busy season.
We hope to see you return soon!!

We stayed in a room with a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, ect. All of these things were great as we could make snacks and breakfast and save on costs. It was nice that there were 2 hot tubs, inside and outside because they both were busy. We loved the ski in ski out ability of this resort and how close it was to the village. They offer a lock up for you skies as well. Newspaper out front of your door every morning! Wi fi connections.

The downfall of this place is the lack of room service. Throughout our 5 night stay the cleaning staff did not replace ANYTHING, including basics like tp and clean towels. We had to follow them down the hall and ask. Yes they were friendly after the fact, but for the rest of our stay they still did not clean out room at all?! A little strange ot say the least.

Stayed here Dec.22-Dec. 26., in a two bedroom unit with our family. It was clean, quiet. Was in a ground floor unit, great for the dog! So close to everything. Good facilities. One thing was the outdoor hot tub was a little dirty but it did the job. All together I felt it was worth the $350 price pernight over Christmas! The desk staff and cleaning staff were so accomadating!

Room Tip: Get a ground floor room. You can literally ski in and out.

This place trades heavily on Nancy Greene's celebrity but if she skied the way they treat their guest she wouLd never have made it to the provincial championships, let alone the Olympics.

We visited between Christmas and New Year.... Peak season. But this hotel has only one lift in operation (there are two but one is dormant) and the waits are silly long. I had to walk up five Flights of stairs in ski boots because the lift line was spilling out into the carpark.

The teenagers running the front desk are inexperienced. I added a night to my stay but since i was arriving late and my room (with kitchen) was not available I took a cheaper room with no kitchen. The best Room switch option they offered was to store my stufff behind the desk for the day....I ended up just taking it back out to my car. They don't shovel their parking lot though, so it's just a mushy mess.

Since I didn't have a kitchen the first morning I was going to eat instant oatmeal in my room but claiming it would be a busy morning the waitress at the hotel restaurant said she couldn't spare a bowl and a spoon. Really!!?? Just lame. I passed that along to the front desk then half an hour later when I went by the same teenager at the front told me "oh, actually, they had plastic bowls!" Was he just trying to irritate me? Nope, his manager chimed in saying that his teenager didn't know that when we first spoke. Not sure why I deserved that idiotic conversation.

And speaking of kitchens, ours was a sparsely and cheaply supplied with as little equipment as is possible. Busted up pots, and few of them to boot. Request to the front desk for a spare was just ignored. Being the holidays and traveling with two hungry kids I like to make nice meals....it was a challenge in improvisation.

The final straw that breaks the back of this camel was my request for a late checkout. I have a kid that does not want to ski another day but since I have to be out of the room by 10 am he will have to hang out alone in the day lodge or I'll have to sacrifice my ski day. If Cahilty even allowed me to stay until noon, we could work around that. But the teenagers at the front desk didn't give a toss. And apparently 4 hours is not enough time to clean the room.

Another note about check out times. Since you can't check in until 4 pm and you have to leave by 10 am, you have to live out of your car the day you arrive and the day you leave. That sucks when you are paying $300+/night. And why the hell do they need six hours to clean rooms?

Bottom line, Nancy Greene ought to be embarrassed to lend her name to a two star circus like this. She should spend less time schmoozing on the mountain and more time training her teenagers. I cannot recommend this place when there are so many other options in the village.

Thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed review of your stay here at Nancy Greene’s Cahilty Lodge. We are so sad to hear that it was not a pleasant one and hope that our response addresses the issues you raise.

We experienced such a wonderful holiday season over the peak stay period, mildly affected by one of our elevators breaking down Christmas Eve. Spirits were high and most guests took to the stairs with a smile, even after a long and action packed, energetic day on the slopes. We can assure you the elevator is now working and in fact not dormant, however we do apologize we were unable to source the intricate parts required to fix this over the busy break.

We are sorry to hear that you missed our plow moving through the available space in the parking lot. This was done daily through the Christmas – New Year period. We were all delighted with the amount of snowfall, however this did prove to be difficult to clear given we were at maximum capacity. Guests were satisfied with a little snow underfoot given the alternative may have resulted in a damaged vehicle.

We are quite concerned you found the kitchen facilities unacceptable and can assure you that a full inventory of that room type has since taken place to ensure all kitchen utensils are accounted for.

With regard to late check out, unfortunately this is not a guaranteed option throughout the peak season. As you experienced, regrettably your room was not ready at the time of your arrival and we are sure you can understand the flow on effect if an increased number of rooms were to remain checked in until midday. We are also deeply concerned that you feel our array of Front Desk Staff were hardhearted, as majority of our guests jump at the chance to store their luggage in our secure baggage room to allow them an additional day of skiing, be it upon their early arrival (most cases) or desire to squeeze in those last few runs on day of check out. We do hope that you were able to treat your son to one of the many available alternative activities here in the village on your day of departure, given he did not wish ski with you.

We do allow ourselves ample time for housekeeping duties to ensure all stay-over guest rooms are tended to when most guests are enjoying the slopes and our rooms are cleaned to a particular standard.

We wish to thank you again for your comments and assure you we have addressed each issue with the required consideration.

We do hope that your future travels allow you the flexibility to make the most of your holiday season.

I stayed two nights in the lodge. As a European, I would call it more an appartment hotel. My room was spacious with a separate bed room - an appartment. It was cosy, but a bit too brownish to my taste. Is brown the favorite color of Canadian hotel designers? I had a nice view to the mountains, and good WiFi -connection. The hotel staff was friendly. I got the room already in the morning, and could keep it little longer in the day of departure. The hotel lunches were quite ok. The gym was dated and small. But in general, very average experience.

Thank you for your review - your feedback is muchly appreciated.
Here at Nancy Greene’s Cahilty Lodge we pride ourselves in providing an experience different to that of a hotel. As you experienced, our rooms are not standard throughout the lodge and this allows us to cater to a wider variety of guests all requiring something a little special with just enough of that ‘cozy’ feel.
Since your stay we are happy to announce that we have purchased two new pieces of Gym equipment to enhance the facility.
We are so glad to hear that overall you enjoyed your experience with our friendly staff and breathtaking views and we do look forward to you visiting us again to try out the new equipment!

Room was small and without fridge. What really anoyed me was the lack of wifi in our room. Tried two ipads but no luck. Had to sit in the lobby to get online. When we asked for a map of Sun Peaks we were given a black and white photocopy of a coloured map. Totally useless. My suggestion is to give this hotel a miss

Thank you for you comments, we appreciate your feedback. We are pleased to advise we have recently installed a major upgrade to our wireless network here at the Lodge, both increasing internet speed and allowing our guests to easily ‘surf the net’ from the comfort of their room with an excellent signal.

Our sincere apologies that your room did not meet your needs. Here at Nancy Greene’s Cahilty Lodge we have a number of rooms available and many room types. This is what makes us stand out as a preferred residence to returning guests and those new to Sun Peaks. Some rooms do not have a kitchen as this is not something desired by all guests staying at the Lodge, particularly short stays. Others have a kitchenette (with small fridge) or a full kitchen and this only need be mentioned at time of booking.
If making a booking online we recommend that comments are added to this effect to ensure your needs are met subject to availability.

Village maps are distributed at various locations throughout Sun Peaks and we note that the majority is provided in black and white. At the time of your request unfortunately the Lodge did not have any ‘Visitor’s Guides’ on hand, however for you next visit these are available at Guest Services (and various other locations in the village) and include a coloured variation of the map, with attraction specifics.

We invite you return to Sun Peaks and Nancy Greene’s Cahilty Lodge in the future, and will ensure that all needs expressed are met with a smile.

Regards,
Nancy Greene's Cahilty Lodge

As the hotel was virtually empty it should have been possible to upgrade us.

This didn't happen - our room was a long walk from reception and was very dark with little natural light.

Somewhat strange place as all the rooms are owned and furnished by individual owners.

Room was a reasonable size and beds were comfortable.
