It's not average for this village as the other places were so bad. I would like to give it a 3.5 stars because it's not really worth four stars.

We had a variety of dishes and they were all not that bad. Nothing spectacular but better than the stuff we got served across the road.

They were out of several dishes we would have liked to order. Perhaps there are some really good stuff that just goes quickly?

Service was good and the food came quickly. We did enjoy the food but it was just not worth four or five stars.

Thank Henry W

Our evening started off well. Great cocktails and good appetizers (yam fries were delicious). It went downhill from there. The service was extremely slow (we were a large group however), and I don't think anyone enjoyed their meal. The short ribs were tough and plain. The salmon was undercooked (but otherwise okay). I think the menu is good, but too bad it's not implemented well.

We had a great meal with friends. All 4 of us enjoyed our dishes. The crab spring rolls were great as was the pumpkin soup.

Service was good.

Visited for birthday dinner with the husband.
Excellent service eventhough it was busy.

We loved the Yam fries appie- their's are amazing!! Nothing like any yam fries we have had before!

For our mains we enjoyed the yellow curry and pad thai...both dishes were very well done and huge!! We both took over half for lunch the next day.

Thanks Black garlic!

Black Garlic offers a varied menu, and any of the selections can be made vegetarian or vegan if desired. The appetizers we had were AMAZING – and the serving sizes were generous. We had the Falafel Fritters and the pumpkin curry soup. The falafel was light and moist (not dry as falafel sometimes are). The serving was 4 large pieces with an apple chutney, cilantro yogurt, and quinoa cucumber salad. The soup was a wonderful pumpkin with coconut milk and curry spices.
The main courses were all right – a little bit of a letdown after the appetizer course. The chow mein was on the salty side, but had a lot of good vegetables. The green curry was a little bland for me, and could have been much spicier, as Thai green curry usually is. The restaurant has a good selection of wines, including some dessert wines and ice wine. We enjoyed our meal, the service was friendly, and we might return just for the pumpkin soup!
