Exceeded Our Expectations

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 10, 2017
Our stay at Sun Peaks happily exceeded our expectations and suprisingly became one of the best highlights of our BC trip. We would remmebd these suites based on their spaciousness, cleanliness, and overall attractive designs.

This hotel is always a favorite spot for our family getaway to the mountain resort. We appreciate being able to check in early and maximize our time using the excellent hotel facilities - the outdoor pool is a big hit with our kids.

We visited Sun Peaks as an overnight stay on our road trip through the Rockies back in April. It was really between seasons then, the end of the winter sports/skiing season and before the summer season, so it felt a little "unloved" I think is the best way to put it.
You have to drive quite a way off the main road to get to Sun Peaks resort itself and it clearly has been built in recent years to cater for the winter sports scene.
Nothing wrong with the Sun Peaks Grand hotel, did everything it should. Watch out if you're driving there, as parking cost C$13 for one night! There was still remnants of snow about which did make the place look grubby but I'm sure that would have been cleaned up ready for the next season.
Our room, number 390 was very generous, with double aspect views, very clean and well appointed. The beds were super comfy too. Good tea/coffee making facilities in the room too.
If I was going back to that part of the world I would probably stay there again but possibly not in April for the reasons I mentioned above. Also, every year about the end of April they hold the national children's band practice camp there, so it was full of kids aged about 10-15 years old - very noisy!

Hello ScoobyPoo

April is a time of thear when our guests come to enjoy the solitude, as you have rightly mentioned it is very calmingly quiet. For the amount of snow that we get in the winter it does take a bit of time for it to vanish away, our grounds and land scape teams work hard at that time of the year to try and keep it as clean as possible, however we are at nature's mercy
I am glad you enjoyed yor room
Thanks

One of the servers Anna pointed me in the right direction on what craft beer to drink and she picked a good one! The food we had was pretty good as well. Everything was good on our end except it was a little pricey.

No complaints, clean room, great service, great location. Came for an anniversary getaway and it was as relaxing as could be. Booked the balcony room and had a nice view overlooking the village, it was an extra $20 to look at the hill but we preferred to people watch from the village side!

We arrived at hotel with staff being very friendly in a relaxed manor set the tone for our getaway . Very informative & knowledgeable of the area . Armed with maps and info we were good to go . Room was great . Only thing about hotel is it needs a little tender loving care and a soft make over would bring this place to the grand resort it could be .. just looks a little warn . Pool was busy and was a popular place on a hot day . Had an old boiler challenging us over our sun beds but hey gave us a bit of a laugh over her behaviour .. it's a nice hotel staff friendly and accommodating. We booked through "booking .com " their final charge and hotels was quite a bit more be prepared for extra resort taxes... beware
