“No WiFi in the room”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

While we were very happy with the rooms and room service we were right down the end away from the hotel. It was a nearly 400 metre walk to the entrance where they you store skis overnight and from the main hot tubs. There was a hot tub on the third floor but not used by many possibly because there was no advice about it, so not very social.
The worst thing about our stay was the fact of no WiFi in the room. You had to go down to the elevator or down to the foyer, so you couldn't google when you needed advice or get emails from friends on the mountain when they sent them and expected an immediate reply.
I wouldn't stay there again because of this frustration

Room Tip: Get a room closer to the hotel end.

We have stayed here yearly since 2009 in a 1 bedroom plus a den. The room is very spacious but it isn't aging well. This past visit in December 2013, we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. I had maintenance there 3 times to fix a broken toilet. Once to fix broken closet doors, another to replace a broken can opener and strainer and yet another to replace dead batteries in the TV remote. There were holes in the sheets and the towels were well worn. Things seem a bit run down. Broken elevators are not fun in ski boots. The most bothersome thing was the noisy fan outside and behind our room. I had to sleep with earplugs. I messaged the manager, since he gave us his card on arrival, but never heard back from him until the day we departed. He apparently was on his "days off". He should have an auto-reply if he isn't going to be available. Housekeeping was fine, but if you don't want anything thrown out- hide it. They were lovely and did replace the items that were discarded immediatley. Be aware the ski valet is NOT a valet. Over the 8 days I skied, nobody was there to take or give me my skis. They were too busy tuning skis and chatting with their friends. Anyone has access to the ski storage racks so be careful. Since we were repeat guests, we received an ammenity upon arrival- one apple and one orange and a small bottle of water. As in my first review from 2009, nothing has changed with respect to the service in the residences. There is nobody at the main desk- ever! If your key doesn't work, you have to go all the way around and over to the hotel. They still don't tell residence guests about goings on in the village or hotel. Who knew there was daily hot chocolate in the lobby? Not us- til the second last day when we were over in main hotel! There is no newspapers anymore in the hotel since delivery has stopped to the resort(no fault of the hotel).
Ok, now some good things. The room is well appointed as other reviews mention with washer dryer and full kitchen. That is why we keep going back. The food and service at Mantles has improved and Didier was wonderful to deal with when planning an apres for 35 people. It isn't cheap, but it was consistent and one of the better meals in Sun Peaks. The resort is never busy(when we are there) and there are virtually no lift lines.
BIG TIP- if you need groceries and are not renting a car to stop in Kamloops, Walmart.ca actually delivers to the hotel for free! They obviously only deliver dry goods, but it was very handy to have all my cereals, granolas, chips, pb and J, snacks etc. from walmart since the Blue Bird grocery is a fortune. You can still get your milk etc, from them, but if you want to save $$ try Walmart.ca - just place your order at least a couple of weeks ahead.
All in all, it isn't a bad hotel, it is just in need of soft goods renovations and maybe some kitchen maintenance. I will still stay here again because I have not yet found a better option. I am giving it 3.5 stars- mainly because of all the service issues on this last visit and the lack of attention to the Residences guests.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't overlook the village- it can get noisy.

This our second time of staying at this Delta. We stayed again in a hotel room on the 5th floor - Signature Club. This is brilliant as continental breakfast is served every morning along with tasty hot and cold hors d'oeuvres at the end of the skiing day, non-alcoholic drinks are free with an honour bar for alcohol. Staff are pleasant and keen to assist. Signature Club staff are exceptionally helpful, friendly and knowledgeable especially Avril & Bill. Property is true ski in ski out. Three large hot tubs to choose from so never problem to find a spot, beautiful view of the mountains whilst sun sets, pool quite warm considering outside temp minus 25....Pedestrianised village - you can even ski through the village.... Most restaurants are good, although there are no real gourmet meals here. A few great coffee shops, most notable being Bolacco fabulous hot chocolate and home made pastries. Met a great bunch of international skiers. Will definitely return although do like to vary our ski trips.

We just got back from a two-week ski holiday at Sun Peaks staying in a one-bedroom condo at the Delta Residences and had a wonderful time. We preferred the Residences to the hotel because the unit had a full kitchen so we could cook the odd nights, and a washer and a dryer which were really handy. The Residences was right in the center of the village, the grocery store, restaurants and shops were all within a couple of minutes' walk.

We stayed in unit 1403 and it's on the top floor. It looked down on the village street and had a nice view of the Morrisey Mountain. It's very spacious for a couple and beautifully furnished. The bathroom had a separate walk-in shower in addition to a bath, which I liked.

The housekeepers came daily to service the unit and did a very good job, although we found the frequency perhaps unnecessary. They did tell us we could hang the Do Not Disturb sign outside if we didn't want servicing on a particular day.

The Residences had a ski locker but it was available to owners of the condos only. Guests could use the ski valet in the hotel, which was very near the lifts. We couldn't pick up the Delta WIFI signal in our unit and had to go near the elevator or to the reception lobby, which was strange as I could pick up the WIFI signals of other condos across the street.

Overall we had a very comfortable stay at the Delta Residences and would stay there again when we return to Sun Peaks. A couple of things in my opinion that can be improved upon would be for the WIFI signal to be boosted so it is more convenient for their guests, and for an information folder to be provided in the units, including helpful details such as checkout time, WIFI access and ski locker etc.

We were on a ski vacation with friends so we book at the residence. We have no complaint what so ever. Clean, very well maintain and the staff is very pleasant at all level. Always smiling and ready to help. We had all the comodities in our little condo including washer and dryer. Ski in and out was great. Right un the village, 1 minute walk to restaurants and stores, We just loved it and will be back for sure.

We came here in August to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived, we were quickly served and found that the room was very spacious with a full kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom.
The hot tub left a bit to be desired as it was more lukewarm than hot.
The suite itself was very comfortable and well furnished, so you feel at home.

We stayed at the Delta in June this year and the hotel itself was excellent. No complaints about anything at all. Our room was huge, outlook over front of hotel and parking areas. We didnt eat in the hotel as the front desk staff said that they were expecting 3 coach loads of people and that the dining room was going to be busy. So on her recommendation we went to a local place which was very good. Sun Peaks itself is a very pretty resort but like a ghost town on June 20th. Summer season not kicked in yet, and most of the little shops/restuarants had signs on the doors saying closed for the winter. I think as a winter resort it would be great and very busy with a good atmosphere but outwith the season very, very quiet.
