“A Wonderful and Relaxing Experience”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

I was in need of a relaxing location to 'recharge my batteries' and have the ability to do some business planning. Elaine was wonderful from the moment she greeted me and showed me around the accommodations. Her attention to detail was outstanding - a king size bed with a very attractive duvet and comfy sheets, popcorn and cookies, a fantastic selection of coffee and tea and orange juice in the fridge. Although the fireplace, Wi-Fi and television were all great the two best features for me were 1) the incredible view over the harbour water from the patio and the hot tub, and 2) the hot tub itself. Although it was great for me to rejuvenate and get business done, I would love to return with a partner as it is a very romantic place. I could not be happier with my stay!

Room Tip: I stayed in the Yama Suite

Elaine makes you feel at home the instant you check in. The suite is beautiful, and the view from your living area is second to none. Your own private hot tub makes for the perfect romantic and relaxing vacation. All of the extras make it feel like home, only better. Elaine is an incredible hostess and is beyond accomadating to all of your needs. Thank you for the amazing Christmas vacation.

Takahashi Gardens is just the place that ones soul can relax at. Beautiful gardens and exquisite room. Elaine was a fantastic host, with just the right amount of presence and presents. We always came home to a little surprise on our deck table after being out exploring the many beautiful areas awaiting us. Good easy hiking, lots of funk factor in the local shops, and really tasty cuisine in the immediate and surrounding areas. We did not lack for one thing in our lovely room, fully functional stylish kitchen. Linens were scrumptious and the bed gave me two of the most comfortable sleeps I have had in a while. Excellent privacy as well. I fully recommend this beautiful getaway for either couples or a special getaway with a family member.

We booked this place last minute the night before with no issues; a flexible arrival time to boot. The place was absolutely stunning even with the overcast weather. The room was well equipped with everything you needed plus more, Elaine has thought well ahead. It is also incredibly private with a great view of Porpoise Bay. Great for seaplane watching! The private hot tub is wonderful in the rain as it is covered and has some nice mood lighting. An excellent selection of dvd's are available to watch on a big screen. Elaine's hospitality was impeccable, we couldn't fault a thing. No place better to put you into a state of relaxation and forget the city life. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Be sure you bring lots of food because you won't want to leave!!

We booked into TG the day before arriving, and had originally planned it as a quick stop-over on our way up the sunshine coast - but we didn't leave until 2pm the next day! This place is beautiful with incredible views and fantastic attantion to detail in all areas of the accomodation. We stayed in the suites and loved the private hot tubs, lovely soft towels, robes, slippers, popcorn(!) and hand made soaps - which Elaine encouraged us to take away with us! The morning cup of tea, sitting on the deck, wrapped up in a robe and looking out over the beautiful view was an experience I'll never forget! Perfect.

Room Tip: The suites are the ones with the view! I'd go for these.

My wife and I sought a place to stay on the sunshine coast for our honeymoon. We came across Takahashi Gardens on the internet, saw that it was new, and thought we'd take a chance.

From the first moment meeting our host Elaine, we knew we were in for a treat. She was genuinely friendly and very helpful throughout our visit. So much so, that she pleasantly surprised this somewhat cynical traveller. She clearly has an eye for detail, which is evident not only in how her suites are elgantly designed and very generously appointed, but also in how she ensures your stay is the best it can be. We suspect she has thought long and hard about what makes for a memorable stay -- for couples in particular -- and has really pulled it off.

Over the years, like other discerning travellers, we have accumulated a pretty sizable laundry list of hospitality pet peeves. Not only did Takahashi Gardens stay clear of every one, it has become our new gold standard by which to compare others. And it has accomplished this for us while only being in its first year of operation. We will most definitely be coming back.
