My husband, myself, my sister and her husband were looking for accomodation in Sechelt. We had booked a place prior to our arrival that ended up being closed! We only discovered this when we got there. Needless to say, after a few phone calls, another B & B recommended "At the Shore B & B." We called the number and Peter, the owner, answered. He said he had 2 suites for us and promptly gave us directions (as we drove there). He was waiting for us on the driveway when we arrived. He showed us the suites and asked us if we wanted to stay. Once we saw the suites, we were in! We couldn't believe our good fortune. . . the place was beautiful!
The 2 suites are pretty much the same except one is a bit larger with a smaller bathroom and the other one is a bit smaller with a larger bathroom. They both have super-comfy Queen size beds, bathrobes, slippers, a fireplace, comfy chairs, a kitchenette (microwave, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, etc.), a small dining table with 2 chairs, a flat screen monitor with internet access, and a beautiful bathroom with a shower and jacuzzi tub. The suites were both VERY clean and modern. There is a media room down the hall that can be shared for watching movies from their large DVD library.
The home is situated on a beautiful inlet. There is a hot tub on the lawn, overlooking the spectacular view of the water and shoreline across the water. If you want to go down to the water, you simply have to walk down the private garden path to the beach. We were there in the winter but you would definitely want to swim in the summer!
Peter and Norma were amazing hosts! They were both so sweet. They're the kind of people that you could get to know very quickly. They gave us a breakfast selection menu and asked us what time we would like breakfast to be ready. In the morning, they brought down the most amazing, scrumptious breakfast!! We had homemade, warm muffins with butter and preserves to start. The coffee was so delicious! After our muffins, coffee, and orange juice, 3 of us had pancakes with real maple syrup and crispy bacon. One of us had poached eggs and delicious grainy toast. It was all so tasty and we were all stuffed. We didn't need lunch after that breakfast!!
I already have my parents going to stay there in a couple of months. I know that they will love it. We would like to go back with our 2 children. We know that they would enjoy the beach and swimming in the inlet. (Peter said that we could bring them and they could sleep on a cot in our room for slightly higher price).
We highly recommend this B & B!
