Fast, tasty and super friendly environment. Probably the best fish chips I've ever eaten. Would definitely come back & recommend to friends.

It was not great. We got our food to go. The main reason for that was because we had two kids just under 2. It was our first night in Port Renfrew and we didn't feel like cooking and wanted to grab something fast. We didn't have to travel far to get back to our place but when we got there, the fish was soggy and the cesear salad was not good at all! The Thai wrap was chicken rice and sauce. That's it. The pulled pork was was not good either. It was yellowish colour. Anyway. It wasn't cheap and it wasn't great either. The poutine I saw on a plate before I left looked amazing!! Wish I would have had that instead. Maybe it would have been better if we had ate there.

Please do not our food in a nasty box, let it sit for 45minutes while you put your kids to bed and then judge it. I personally have not ever got take out food in my life because it makes food SOGGY and GROSS and insults the hard work of a kitchen team. We recieve daily comments that our fish and chips are possibly the BEST in the world so next time your in town grab a seat, a glass of wine, and a HOT FRESH plate of food and ENJOY ! And from one young family to the next (we have 2 kids under 4 and work 18 hour days to keep our family biz alive).............let us know in person if you have a problem vs hiding behind the internet.

Fantastic service....crowded and very busy and the staff took care of us like we were the only customers. The food was great as well.

The fish and chips were great - choice of cod or halibut. They also serve a couple of pies. We had blackberry/apple pie right out of the oven, and it was home-made right out of the oven and very good.
This is a small, cosy, sit-down restaurant with several outdoor tables, well-frequented by campers and sightseers. Dress is very casual. Prices are very reasonable. The menu is varied with something for everyone - some emphasis on local seafood. We didn't have the chowder but it looked awesome.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The day we were there was very busy because it was raining and all the campers and hikers were coming in for lunch.
Port Renfrew itself has a scenic dock and hotel, but there is no little town, which surprised us. Scattered houses and 2 or 3 small restaurants. We were delighted with this one, and would eat there again next time we are passing through.

I've lived overseas for the past ten years and try to return to Vancouver Island every year or two, and when I do I always make a trip to the Coastal Kitchen. The food is amazing and the owners are genuinely nice and hospitable! I'll always be back and then back again!
