My husband my son and I stayed 5 nights at Soule Creek Lodge. We had the Juan de Fuca suite in the lodge. The sitting room of this suite converted into a bedroom for my adult son. The beds are comfortable the bathroom is huge with lots of counter room for 3 people’s toiletries. There is a good supply of linen and hot water.
Breakfast is hearty –just what is needed to give energy for tramping around old growth forest and tidal pools. Dinner is delicious boasting local ingredients-both Jon and Tim are chefs. There is a general store a decent retaurant and a small bistro in town so lunch is not a problem. You need to bring your own wine and beer. The store has a limited selection of Australian wine.
We had no problem with cell phone reception. The wi-fi was slow but it worked.
The view from the lodge is stunning and I enjoyed curling up with a book on the comfy leather sofas in the lounge.
It is a wonderful place to get back in touch with nature combined with comfort-my camping in the wilderness days are over. There is the added luxury of a hot tub to sooth the tired muscles after a long trek.
Jon and Tim are wonderful hosts and can direct guests to the interesting spots to visit.
it is a place to appreciate nature and wildlife I would not recommend it to those looking for nightlife and manufactured amusement.
