Description: The Renfrew Pub is the homey gathering place for locals and visitors at the heart of Snuggery Cove. Friendly and inviting, it’s the sort of place even first-timers swear they’ve been before. The waterfront pub and restaurant occupies an enviable spot, right next to the dock. Our craft brews include crisp, cold favourites from right around here: Vancouver Island Brewery High Trail Honey Ale, Lighthouse Race Rocks, Saltspring Island Golden Ale, Phillips Blue Buck, Granville Island Raspberry Ale. And we’re just getting started. Our food is all about quality with a fresh, homespun focus. Chickens are roasted daily on site; sauces and gravies are built from scratch. The baked goods are handcrafted, fries hand-cut, and herbs pulled fresh. Choose from sumptuous burgers or boat-to-table seafood drawn from nearby waters. The Pub serves breakfast (weekends), lunch and dinner, along with elevated pub fare — wings for the game and gooey poutine. Snuggle up or wake up with a steaming mug of Discovery Coffee from Victoria’s beloved roastery, and let the day unspool.

We were just finished our morning at the Botanical Beach and happened to notice the hotel as we were leaving for Sooke. We decided to stop in and have lunch and are we ever glad we did. The view on the deck is amazing and we were entertained by 4 playful seals in the harbour. The service was excellent as was the food. We had their halibut and chips ... so good.

Only stopped for late breakfast. Good food, Great coffee. Service was cordial and place was clean and neat. Looks like it could be a good hotel / dinner place. Have to try another time another trip.

We split an order as we were told the portions were large. Food came hot and was very tasty. Expect to pay a little more, but it's worth it.

The food is good and reasonably priced. On a sunny day there is nothing better than sitting on their beautiful deck and soaking up the sun and fantastic view of the ocean. The service can be slow and sometimes frustrating, but you are dealing with Port Renfrew time, kind of like 'Mexican time'...it is more relaxed, sometimes difficult for city dwellers to reconcile but once you do you are all the better for it!

During our vacation, we stopped for lunch at the Port Renfrew Hotel. Lunch on the deck, overlooking the ocean and watching fisherman working on the dock. We ordered the fish and chips with halibut. The fish was cooked to perfection with a nice crispy batter and a generous portion of chips. As we saw we when we were leaving, the halibut filets were being hauled up from the dock in a 2-wheeled cart. But the piece de resistance was the 'homemade' tartar sauce! Not the usual gob of mayonnaise with bits of floating relish. A super blend of flavours that I can still taste today. When we asked the waitress, she said that the chef had resisted sharing the recipe with "TV food network" types. She did share some secrets and I will be trying to reconstruct at home. About 3 hours northwest of Victoria BC. Lovely countryside.
