We went up to Mt Cain for a weekend in February and booked a room in the Kapitany Lodge. The Lodge is amazing: I was told that it was built by some ski bums who traveled around and put all their best ski lodge ideas into the building. You can tell! From the clothes warming system in the wet room to the shared hostel-style kitchen and lounge area (with a great view of the action on the ski hill), it's the sort of place you are happy to stumble onto.
This lodge is also advertised as a family-oriented lodge: while there were certainly many families sharing the space (I'd say about half the rooms had kids under 10 years old sleeping in them), don't be surprised that 'quiet hours' are only partially observed. We made the mistake of assuming that a family lodge would be quiet during the quiet hours, but in hindsight it is a ski hill after all.
