My friends GPS had some trouble locating the place, but a quick stop in town got us pointed in the right direction. We booked the full day tour and had a blast. As others have said the last minute mention of insurance was a bit of a surprise, a lot of the machines show signs of wear, and we didnt opt for the insurance. Our guide was pleasant but seamed to get a bit frustrated with the teens toward the end of the tour. At no point did we feel pressured to tip the guide, though we did in fact tip him, others on our tour did not.

We went on the full day tour on 12/31 and had so much fun. Our guide, Gord, was great! We had a nice ride up the mountain, snacks and lunch at their cabin, and plenty of time to blast around in the basin before heading back down. What makes this tour so much better than the competition is that when you get to the basin, you have about 45 min to do whatever you want. The guide basically lets you go off on your own (staying inside the basin). Much better than just following your guide the entire day. I would definitely do this tour again. Thanks Gord

We got picked up at our hotel in Banff and driving to there launch site the ride was about 1 and 1/2 hours but well worth it. The instruction was great and the guide was a knowledgeable gentleman named Chris he was pleasant and patient with us newbies.
The trail was beautiful and it wondered up the mountain every so often Chris would stop to let us take pictures and explain what we where looking at. The free play time was even more awesome and the meal in the cabin was relaxing and peaceful.

This was a terrifc adventure as we dashed through the falling snow turning up the corners up up to 9000 ft. on the mountain. Once there cookies and hot cider awaited us. Then down and back to the cabin. We never had done this before, but even at our age it was easy to learn. A must go.

Have visited Toby Creek every time I have stayed in Banff...taking many, many friends and colleagues with me and always had a fantastic time.

My last visit ended with a $800 bill for damage to some of the plastic on the front of the sled (which had already been repaired several times).

To my surprise the insurance only covered me for $250 so by the time I'd ridden the sled down to the office I had a bill for well over $1000.....with no way of disputing the costs.

Don't get me wrong if you damage a sled you should pay, after all its your fault....but they basically crank the cost so that its well over the $250 insurance cover.

I have since checked online and the parts were around $180 retail (plus shipping and taxes) with 100% increase for labour (to clip it on) it still doesn't add to $1000+.

The place is fantastic, the adventure brilliant but the management methods are highly questionable!

We are sorry your experience with us has reflected negatively on your review however upon further investigation into your claim we have found you have falsely accused Toby Creek Adventures.
You arrival date was February 24, 2011, not 2012 as you have stated above and it has been 18 months since you participated in our activity. You brought 4 drivers and 2 passengers which resulted in a payment of $1300.00 for the trip you took. You were offered the Optional Collision Insurance which was fully explained to you at the time you arrived and you chose to take it. You damaged the machine you were riding and the damages came to a total of $549.00 not the $1000.00 you have stated above. You paid for the Insurance which gave you $250.00 for incidentals thus making your bill $334.88 which you signed off on with your signature. The labour on your bill was for $69.00. You have falsely accused us of "ripping you off" which is obviously not the case.
