“A peaceful getaway in a wonderful location.”
Reviewed August 8, 2011

We stayed here as the last stop in a hectic three week trip to Canada. The location is wonderful with great views over the lake. Humming birds flew in the garden. The view from the bedroom at night was magical.
Pam was a great host - we were welcomed with home made - and grown blueberry pies. She was most friendly and drove and collected us from dinner out at a local restaurant the first night. Breakfasts were a treat - we had to keep some back for later in the day so much was provided.
This is a great place to chill with a bottle of wine and relax. We would certainly come back if we were in the area. All in all a great experience.

My husband and I stayed with our son and daughter-in-law in Pam and Gary Sutherland's B&B at the end of July. When you see the house at first you wonder where you're going to stay as it doesn't look big enough - but wait 'til you drive round the back. I think we all uttered a collective 'WOW' when we saw the accommodation and the view. The house looks across the valley and lake towards Summerland. It sits on a road with very little traffic so the only sounds are the humming birds and the chatter of the Quebec students picking cherries in the orchard next door. Pam will make the breakfast for whenever you want ...... homemade muffins, fresh fruit, granola, yoghurt and eggs benedict, either to eat inside or out. There is a full kitchen if you feel like cooking or a barbeque for outside. We shopped in Picticton and had a lovely meal in The Heritage in Naramata. We had a day of wine tasting courtesy of Karen and her Lincoln Navigator. Ideally we would have stayed a full three days rather than two.

Some people may find it a problem that there is only one bathroom - we didn't but timing was everything!

Thank you to Pam and Gary! Our 3 night stay was everything we wanted (and needed): A time for my husband and I to relax, spend time together and enjoy the Okanagan. The days began with a wonderful breakfast (this is no ordinary breakfast!) with views of the lake, vineyards and the happy chirps of birds. Naramata's wineries, trails and other gems are closeby. The place is welcoming, spacious, clean, well appointed and very private. We will be back!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the second time this year and amazingly this year was even better than last year. Naramata is the most incredible place and Sutherland Blueberry B&B feels like home away from home. Pam makes a wonderful breakfast every morning that provides the perfect start to a day of wine touring. She also helped us out by recommending must-visit wineries and must-try dishes at some of the local spots. I would highly recommend this B&B to couples and families. It is very spacious so you will have lots of room inside and out!

We have stayed twice at Sutherland's and had a very pleasant visit both times. Pam and Garry are very attentive hosts and will help out with information or things you need or forgot anytime.

They absolutely respect your privacy but are available for help when needed. The breakfasts are simply decadent, with everything being fresh and home-made and delivered to your table or patio at your leisure.

Having your own kitchen for meal preparation was a huge bonus for us as we really like to cook. The only thing needing improvement is to teach those quails that parade through the patio garden all day long how to dress themselves and hop onto the barbeque!

For anyone seeking a retreat to relax at after a day of hiking or touring the wineries all weekend long, this is a great place to stay at.

In desperate need of a little get away, this was the perfect place for us! Spacious, beautifully decorated, this is more than your average B&B. Pam is a warm and gracious hostess, providing wonderful breakfasts and was very accommodating to our schedule; as well you have a fully equipped kitchen to make your own lunch, snacks, dinner or if you rather BBQ something outside - that works too! There are several outside sitting areas to relax and take in the breathtaking view; enjoy the simple pleasures of watching the various species of birds around the property - I would never have thought watching birds in the bird bath could be so amusing (maybe it was the wine....). And when you feel like it, venture out to the numerous wineries on the Naramata bench. Highly recommended but if we tell everyone about Sutherland Blueberry B&B it may get harder to to book our own visits....
