This is a great little gem of a place. I loved the museum and the farm and all the farm animals. A real great place to bring the kids.

“Excellent tourist site and well worth your $8”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

This was a very unexpected stop but we were really pleased that we made the effort to go back and see this site. It is really well done with a house and store set up that you could see no where else. Truly amazing and fun to see what life was like in earlier time.

“Walk thru history”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Driving back from Harrison on Highway 7 (the slow route) we saw the sign for Kilby. Had never been there so made the turnoff and was so happy we did. So awesome so see British Columbia's History....the General Store....the 1900 "hotel"... the post office and all of the live farm displays. What a great place to bring the kids to show them how the province was built.

“Go as a Couple or Take the Kids! You'll Love it!”

A fabulous 1906 General Store Museum. See thousands of goods which were for sale in the early 1900s. View the attached heritage post office and hotel. The surrounding heritage farm is populated by numerous varieties of farm animals. There are farm buildings and antique farm tools and equipment to view. There is even an old fashioned outdoor playground for children. We did not eat at the restaurant but the homemade pies on display were very tempting. There is also a gift shop. Check for special events.

“Worth a trip”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

My husband & I checked out the Kilby Historic Site for our second trip down to Harrison Hot Springs. Typically, we stay in Harrison and enjoy the resort/pools/beach/etc but I wanted to try something different and even *gasp* educational! It's a short 15-20 min drive from Harrison to the Kilby Site but it's a completely different place. The General Store is like you've stepped back into time. I really enjoyed the informative talk we were given about the different way of life people lived back in the early 1900s. The artifacts that were on display definitely brought it home. I also found that going to the historical site really gave me a sense of perspective about BC's history.

In addition the to General Store and attached hotel, we loved the farm that was also on site, particularly getting up close to the ponies, pigs & sheep. One of the volunteers even gave us an apple so we could feed one of the ponies.

After the farm, we went back into the orientation barn which also had a little restaurant. We both shared a peach/raspberry pie which was delicious! Probably the best food I had the whole trip. Yum! And only $3.50 per slice - you can barely buy a cup of coffee for that price in Vancouver. Definitely going back to Kilby, perhaps in the summer?
