“Wonderful romantic getaway”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

Spent two nights at Sasquatch Crossing Lodge recently and had a fantastic time. The lodge is an absolutely gorgeous, immaculately maintained heritage building, on a beautiful acreage... the picture of serenity. The lodge is staffed by a lovely couple who were generous with their time and conversation and were totally accommodating of our dietary restrictions in their delicious breakfasts. The dog and cat on the property were so sweet, friendly and playful, they made us laugh every time we went outside. The 1950's era saltwater pool was probably the highlight for me; the perfect refreshment in the summer heat. We both enjoyed our time so much we plan to return as soon as time and finances allow. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a peaceful refuge for contemplation and reflection, or looking for an unforgettable setting for a bit of precious time with someone special.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room #1.

We visited the EcoLodge this past weekend and had SUCH a great time. We loved how old timey the lodge was (built in 1920!) and decorated with lots of really neat old furniture and knick knacks. Our bed was so comfy we were sad to go home and sleep on our own :) The breakfasts were delicious and Denny, the hostess, was really friendly and warm. She gave us some great info about the area and I just really enjoyed her company. There is pretty well no cell reception and no tv's to speak of in the lodge - we found it hard at first but once we overcame our electronic withdrawl we were really able to disconnect and relax.
The property is very beautiful and quiet - it was an amazing break from the city. We zipped into Agassiz and visited some farms on the circle farm tour (and luckily got to visit a garlic fest that happened to be going on that weekend!) and also spent a day on the beach in Harrison. Google map told us it was about 30 mins from Harrison but I think it was much less and the drive is really scenic...I think we were driving the locals crazy by taking our time on the roads looking at the view!
Overall for two mid-twenties crazy busy city dwellers the EcoLodge was a very memorable escape from the city that we will look back on fondly. We hope to be able to return in the winter so we can check out some hot springs and go on some snowy hikes!

Room Tip: Our room was #5 but all of the upstairs rooms seemed great!

This old summer home has been converted recently into a beautiful B&B, owned by local First Nations. It's a very welcoming place, with great food and comfortable rooms. While a bit isolated, it's located along a river near a scenic golf course and near some very good restaurants. Well worth a visit, in the area near Harrison Lake.

Thank you for your comments, we are a little off the beaten path and sometimes that is what guests are looking for; to escape from the cell phones, televisions and other modern conveniences that distract from the natural wonder around us. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again. Take care and safe travels.
