“Unexpected "cruise" in the middle of nature”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

After having consulted the brochure, we asked in Valemont Visitor Centre to make reservations for this "cruise". One hour drive further south on HW 5, we entered the gravel road to Blue River Safari. A floating reception, with a waiting lounge where one could have a drink and a lunch, while waiting for the ride itself. Apparently there were more visitors than expected, so an extra captain had to be called up for. Less than half an hour later, we were ready to get into the Zodiac to cross the river and Mud Lake. During the trip, we were well informed by our captain. He spotted a black bear, which we could observe for quite some time. Of course some bald eagles along the shore as well. After having sites of the mountains around, we docked and went for a short walk to a nice waterfall.
Glad we decided to take this trip.

“Loved it”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Despite the tourist bus pulling in we had an amazing boat ride. Well organised, safety conscious and good seating in the boat for all. We loved our guide too.
Saw a bear and cub and bald eagles but that was a bonus. The ride itself was worth the money!
The cafe serves delicious food with a delicious fresh salad with berries. A long wait for the food because they were busy but we were not in a hurry anyway.
We did this enroute from Jasper to Clearwater

..Or at least it was for us. Great boat ride. Amazing scenery. Bald eagles and a bear. Very happy we pushed the boat out for this one. Pun intended.

“Awesome way to break up the drive to/from Kamloops!”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

I spontaneously decided to go on this trip after seeing signs on the highway since I was looking for a way to make a boring driving day more interesting and it was the best decision ever! The jet boats are NZ shotover jet style, so it's partly a wildlife trip, and partly a great blast around the river. We first sought out a bear, and then got to spend around 20mins just watching it explore along the river edge doing it's thing, which is a real treat that you don't get to do when you encounter them by accident! Floating on the river we were safely away from the bear, but still a close enough distance to be able to watch it in detail. Beautiful location and fantastic trip. Thanks guys :-)
