“Awesome Tour and real food as well”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

Called in on recommendation of friend who had enjoyed safari. Classy outfit with well maintained boats. Handsome Spanish accented boatman who was easy to listen to and provided lots of information. Tour found a brown and black bear within 20 minutes then skilfully kept us silently snapping pictures as they fed and even swam. Finished with a walk up to beautiful waterfall and wild berries. On return to base had fresh and tasty food, bison burger for me and salmon steak for my darling. Wild blueberry topping a nice touch. Took massive fruit muffins away with us and these ended up being enough for dinner on our arrival in Jasper. Not free but overall great experience and real food was a bonus on the "no food" highway.

“Best tour ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013 via mobile

This one hour trip is definitely worth the money. Our guide started by telling us some information about the surroundings and managed to make some interesting chats with other visitors. The boat trip itself is worth it, but having seen some black bears and eagles finishes the great experience.

“A little Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

The problem with superlatives is that they raise expectations, and that can so often lead to disappointment. But not here. This is one of the finest short excursions I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Lets suppose there were no wild animals here at all. It would still be worth it just for the very enjoyable boat ride on the lake, with its fantastic scenery, photogenic little bays and waterfalls, its relaxing atmosphere and the very, very pleasant company of the staff who operate this place.

Now add close encounters with black bears, sightings of the occasional Bald Eagle and Osprey and you have just the perfect spot to pass an hour or two. Three bears were sighted on our trip, one of which wandered along the lake shore, completely disinterested in us, for a good five minutes, at times no more than fifteen feet away.

The boat has an electric engine and glides silently alongside the bear which remains completely at ease about his business. Others, in a boat which left just after us, spotted a bear swimming in the water.

But that is not all, the little cafe offers an excellent breakfast - if you are staying locally and book the early first trips, the breakfast is included!

Lunch is also available. Everything about this place says, make this a must do tour. I would even say if you are touring from Vancouver to Jasper, reroute your journey from the 1 to the 5, Kamploops to Jasper, just so you can do this trip.

Excellent. Very highly recommeneded.

“Wonderfull bear watching experience!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

Our guide took us and 6 others in a boat to Mud River and Mud Lake to look for bear. We spotted a young bear, about 4 years old, grazing and exploring the rocks on the waterside. He did not care we were there, just did his own thing. We visited the nearby waterfall, did not see any other animals anymore, but that does not matter. The boat trip, good information of the guide and of course the bear made the trip worthwhile!

“Great adventure with Bears, eagles, deer and waterfall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

On Canada Day long weekend we drove through Blue River and had to stop at the River Safari there. The signage was great, easy to get to and not far off the road. There were 5 of us and we went on the river Safari with Derek as our guide, he was excellent! We saw a black bear by the water looking for food, it walked along the shore and we got lots of pictures. We also say 2 eagles swooping down catching fish, or trying to anyway. The waterfall was beautiful and we got off the boat and walked up to it to get better pictures. After the river safari, we decided to do Jeep Safari, what a great time, especially on the way down! Fast! And we saw 2 deer walking up the road.
