We stayed here twice - August long weekend 2012 and 2013 for the Alert Bay 360 kayak race.
The cabins are equipped with everything you need, they are very clean and cheerful. The service is great and we were made feel welcome and at home. Tono went out of his way to help with everything we needed. Saturday night he made a bonfire for everybody to gather around, get to know each other and share adventure stories.
Sometimes there could be a vintage airplane parked at the nearby airstrip with the pilots joining in the storytelling by the fire.

If you're looking for peace and relaxation this is the place for you. Situated at the far end of Cormorant Island, right beside the hiking trails, I felt a sense of supreme calm at Oceanview Cabins and could have stayed much, much longer. In addition, the service is astounding, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen complete, and the showers full of pressure. I've travelled far and wide on this planet and have no problem calling this place an absolute gem.

We were in the 'northern' part of Vancouver island. We were put up at the Oceanview Cabins and were impressed with the cleanliness and cheeriness of the cabins. All you needed was there. We had all types of weather that day, but it was March and unpredictable.

Don't get me wrong, I had a good sleep every night I was at Oceanview but the ocean view included a giant shrub as well as trees blocking the view of the actual ocean which was about .5kms away. Had I known the view was as such, I would've paid the lesser amount for a non-ocean view cabin BC they're basically the same. I loved the cozy decor and spaciousness of the cabin we were in and had wireless for one night until the cabin staff came an took the modem to allow other guests to access it. I guess we didn't need wireless as bad as the other guests. Overall nice, clean and great sleeping.

We stayed two nights in August 2011, but wish we stayed longer. We would absolutely stay at Oceanview cabins again.
We stayed in one of the two bedroom cabins at the top of the hill. The bedrooms each had a queen bed, dresser, and side tables. There was a vanity mirror in each, too. No AC (typically no need), but the windows can open and all have screens.
They have been refurbished recently - the furniture is all new and modern. There is a good size flat screen tv with cable. We were pleased to find free wifi, but the signal strength varies. There is a nice view of the mainland mountains from the front window of the cabins at the top of the hill. Sit on the front porch and enjoy the ravens and crows chattering with your morning coffee.
The galley kitchen is stocked with plates, cups, flatware and cooking pots. The refrigerator/freezer is new and full sized - we brought food over, but you can stop at the grocery in town. The stove top/oven has coil burners. There is a microwave too.
The bathroom in our cabin was a cheerful bright green with an equally cheerful striped shower curtain. Plenty of towels.
They don't allow pets on the furniture (neither do we - or there wouldn't be room for us), but if your pet insists the staff will provide covers/balnkets upon request.
We didn't hear any of the neighbors, but be aware there are cabins that are divided like town-houses. We can't speak to the noise level there.

The cabins are on the east side of the island, near the airport. It is about a five minute drive from the ferry dock. Note that the cabins are at the top of a steep hill. No restaurant on site, so bring food or look into one of the spots in town.

This is my second time staying at the Oceanview properties, this time for business, previous time on a personal trip. Both of my stays have been absolutely fantastic. As a traveler throughout BC, these cabins are top-notch. They can essentially be a home away from home. Very clean and very functional. Kitchens are well-equipped with all of the essentials, allowing the traveler to bring their own food, and avoid eating out regulary. The decor is modern and very comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Lots of space. Certainly beats the crampiness of a hotel room. The freshly baked muffins at the time of check-in are an added bonus. Absolutely love it, and will definitely return.

Very nice place to stay and very helpful, Sandi I believe to be her name. I was working for the Nimgish band and booked a one night stay at the cabins. Very well equipped kitchen that I wish I realized I had before I left home. Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean and had internet........surprisingly considering the remoteness. May return for pleasure trip next summer just to explore Cormorant Island.
