For bicyclists doing the Selkirk Loop "super side trip" up to from Creston to Kaslo/New Denver, staying at this motel was a perfect experience. A world class view across a 90 mile long lake up into snowy high country. A safe low traffic road with good pavement to ride on. Nice room with kitchenettes, a restaurant, and hot springs a short walk away . The owners see to your needs as a bicyclist with a concern for your property. Selkirk Loop bicycle map is on the web. The super side trip is is titled "North Kootenay Lake and Silvery Slocan Lake". It should be on the touring cyclist's "Bucket List". Ainsworth Motel is est 40 miles to New Denver and 62 miles to Creston passing through an artist community and ferry ride. DO IT and stay here.

The owners of this place are so warm and welcoming. They made you feel right at home and that they appreciated your business. The rooms are very clean well taken care of. The bed had the best pillow i have ever slept on. What I enjoyed the most about this motel was the view. Sitting out on the deck, you have the most spectacular view of the lake and the mountains. It was so relaxing to sit out there at night and just enjoy the view. I also enjoyed my morning coffee sitting out there. They have provided some nice amenities for their guests. On the lawn there is a barbeque and picnic table as well as some lawn chairs. Its only a short 20 minute drive into Kaslo for restaurants, shopping and the ss Moyie museum. I will definitly stay here again.

Glen and Elaine could write a book on hospitality. Rooms are very clean and less than 2 minutes to the hot springs. The view of the lake is spectacular. They suggested the Kaslo Hotel for dinner and they were spot on. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends and family.

I went on a motorcycle trip in Sept 2012 with a friend and we had the opportunity to stay at the Ainsworth Motel. The owners were very friendly, accomodating and very informative with regards to ideas on where to ride, eat, ferry schedule etc. The location is fantastic with a great lakeview and only steps to the hot springs. I am very particular with regards to cleanliness and this place was CLEAN ! I watched Glen spend over an hour scouring the communal BBQ - I have never seen one so clean and would not hesitate to use it. These owners definitely take pride in the accomodation and it shows. I would recommend it to anyone and am planning a return trip in the spring.

Right next door to the Ainsworth Hot Springs! What a great place for weary cyclists... The hosts were terrific and provided us with indoor, locked bike storage. There is not much around as far as town but there is everything you need. The hotel, just steps away from our motel has a good restaurant and the motel has a wonderful lawn, barbecue area in front of the rooms where you can barbecue your dinner if you bring it with you. The view is beautiful, a great place to sit, read, and relax.
