We had a very relaxing weekend at this resort. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was quite comfortable. The pool area was also clean, and offered several temperatures (from a cold plunge to a warm pool to a steaming-hot cave) to suit various needs. The price is a bit steep for what you get, but I guess that's just part of the cost at staying in a nice hotel that's off the beaten path.

Room Tip: Sure, the view is nice, but it's the same view you'll enjoy from the pool. If you want to sa...

You are quite right about being off the beaten path and sometimes it is bittersweet. It's great you were able to enjoy a taste of the West Kootenays. I agree, view from the pool is beautiful. Thanks for posting a review.

We enjoyed everything about theis resort - the room (the beds were very comfortable!), the food was good, the service was excellent and the pool is wonderful. I would definitely return for a longer stay.
The location is bit out of the way but worth the effort.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise as it was clean, neat and tidy. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and had a lovely personally made card in our room upon arrival. The price was a bit out there for what you get for a room. I was disappointed in the 'Premium View Room', it had a small window, no balcony, tiny bathroom and lacking colour. Too generic! The 'Sous Chef' Max made the special in the dining room the night we stayed and kudo's. Awesome dinner! Hats off to Becca for fantastic service. The pools were a little cool but the Cave was hot and steamy. Enjoyed out stay but would consider another hotel/motel somewhat cheaper next time.

Travelled long way to enjoy family vac. My disabled child was denied access to enter pool with a "floatation device"!!!!!! My daughter has cerepral palsy /quad and requires the assistance of device to hold her upright as well as having me hold her and the only way of getting her in. Staff went to supervisors who went to management to come back to say no, she can't go in. Swimming being one of the very few things this child can do and was so excited about going. We were treated unapologetically, rudely and downright disgusting. This place is discriminating and should not state it is handicap access. There is a ramp up to pool that is too steep to be to code or safe. The hotel has an elevator that opens to a stairwell/ area that was not made to have wheelchair access. I would advise wheelchair users, people with scooters/walkers or elderly and people with disabilities avoid Ainsworth.

Thousands of young families enjoy our facility each year and we have developed our policies to create, what we consider, is the safest possible environment. In our effort to manage this, we have made the decision to not allow personal floatation devices in the pools. It is our experience that life jackets provide a false sense of security and encourages parents to assume their children are safe, letting them drift off, rather than remaining vigilant to the ever present risks associated with water.
This incident has given us an opportunity to recognize where we can improve on customer service by providing an exemption for individual with mobility challenges. Please don't hesitate to inquire about what floatation devices are acceptable for use in the hot springs.

I stayed in the wheelchair accessible room which was beautifully designed. Probably one of the most accessible hotels that I have stayed at with a wheel in shower and bench attached to the wall of the shower. The grab bar and toilet were at the proper height.
My only disappointments were the lack of service in the dining room after a late check in. Our server seemed more interested in clearing tables then bringing us a second cup of coffee and asking if we would like dessert especially after offering us coffee twice and then not bringing it. The food was okay, but I would not eat there again unless it was included in the price of the room. The other thing was the coolness of the main hot spring pool. It would have been nice if it was warmer and also if they had done some minor touch ups such as painting the pool area as the paint was chipped and the sides of the pool needed to be scrubbed. The cave however was nice and hot and really neat to go through although it would be nice if it were a bit deeper.

Room Tip: If you stay on the 3rd floor which is an adult only floor it is very quiet and the view is absolutel...

We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the design and ergonomics of this space. With the recent renovation, we wanted to provide an accessible guest room that was well-appointed and would compliment the requirements of someone in a wheelchair. Our guests expect great customer service, and it is certainly something we take pride in. It was very disappointing to hear that our service standard was not met in the dining room that evening. I do apologize for that, and thank you for bringing your complaint to the attention of management. It was addressed immediately.
While the hot mineral water flows freely from the earth, water temperatures need to be managed and can fluctuate a bit. We try to maintain the main soaking pool between 35C - 37C (which is a max temperature for that area). It can be noted that mineral build-up is the biggest challenge facing our maintenance crew. Removal is periodical and subject to a number of conditions, such as weather. Scheduled cleaning procedures take place twice weekly in both the pool and cave areas. We're glad you were able to enjoy your accommodation and cave experience and look forward to future visits. Thanks very much for your review.

Nice clean hotel. Great rooms. Probably comparable to Holiday Inn express or other 3 star hotels. Your obviously staying here for the hot springs which are fantastic. But prepare to drive 30 minutes to the closest town if you dont want to eat in their dining room.

That old saying "there must be something in the water" certainly applies to Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort. We are well aware that visitors come here to enjoy the naturally hot mineral water and we do our best to provide a clean, safe and relaxing place to spend a day, a night or a weekend. Thanks very much for your comments.

I've been to the hot springs previously and planned a motorcycle trip here with my brother on the July 1 weekend. After riding all day, we covered nearly 600 km, we arrived and were given a great welcome. I asked where we should park our bikes and was directed to park them right in front of the lobby under the canopy where they would be protected! We were even given a bag of clean rags for wiping them down in the morning to remove the dew. Our room was comfortable and clean and handily located on the same floor as the access to the hot springs. Thick bathrobes provided in the room were great to wear to and from the springs. As usual, the springs were amazing and felt great after a long ride. We had supper in the restaurant and the food was outstanding. The service was attentive and friendly.

Room Tip: If you have had plenty of time viewing the spectacular scenery getting here, the rooms at the back w...
