“Great location for skiing - shame about the tour company”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

This hotel was perfect for all types of skier and age range. Good food, with excellent cheeses and small but adequate swimming pool and sauna.
However, don't go with CLASSIC SKI based in the uk v bad. I was abandoned at Geneva airport for seven hours, alone with all my baggage for my return. I had to ski alone with my excellent instructor but this meant that my days were spent on my own a very lonely week. I did not see anyone from classic ski and was not told I would be returned so early. Apparently this was my fault because I did not live in London and the other six did! I booked because I was assured that I would be skiing with like minded people, this was a completed falsehood.these people do not look after you. I felt completely abandoned I spent a lot of time in my room since there was nothing else for a single person to do, after a walk into the little town a swim and a read in the bath. A good job the hotel and town were good, otherwise it would have been a complete disaster. The skiing was brilliant.

Room Tip: Chose a room with a bath. I had a balcony and television and internet was easy to access. I had a sm...

I have just returned from a very pleasant week in Le Calgary. The food was very good and all the hotel staff were very friendly. The room was very comfortable - a slight problem with hot water in the evening if everybody wanted a shower at the same time. Swimming pool is very small but wave machine gave you something to swim against. Nice sauna and steam room.

This is our 6th skiing holiday in this region and the last 3 have been at this hotel. We have stayed in many hotels throughout the world, particularly GB and USA and this is far better than many 4 star graded hotels, I'm not sure how the French grading is established, but don't be put off by it's current 3 star status. For skiing in you are only a few steps from the garage/ ski locker room, and when going out the first lift is no more than 50 meters away.
The hotel is clean, and all the staff, from maintenance to management are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The public areas are all comfortable and traditional in style, there is a lovely bar area, with very good live music once a week, but also a quieter room if that is preferred. There is also another separate room with pool table. The newly refurbished pool area is wonderful. Although the pool is small it has been fitted with a jet to swim against which is great fun, the hot tub, sauna and steam room have all been replaced since our last visit 2 years ago and are spacious and just what you need after a day on the slopes. Although we didn't use it a massage service is also available.
The food is varied, tasty and beautifully presented, and the staff are all well trained and the service is prompt. The cheese board is a delight with about 25 French cheeses on offer every night and brought to your table to choose.
Our bedroom and bathroom was very large but because we left it late to book our 10 day stay we had to pay a bit extra for the spirit of the mountain room, the views were spectacular. We did find the rooms too warm for our taste, however the chambermaids promptly changed our bedding when asked, and we just opened the windows, so it wasn't a problem.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely, although vary in size. Book early if you want a choice as their occupancy...

Just returned from our first time skiing. You are never too old to take up any sport, this hotel was perfectly situated, and the very happy staff made us most welcome. Le Calgary in Les Saisies was ideal. The manager Mr Berthod greeting each of us personally to welcome us to his hotel.
One of us was a non skier but there were walks around the hotel and the hamam and spa facilities were more than accommodating. The food was varied and tasty and the cheese board meant that once returned home a serious cutting down of food intake was necessary. The warm and cosy rooms, both public and private made for a relaxing after ski melt down.
We would certainly return to this hotel and to the area of Savoire Les Saisies.

We spent a week at Hotel Calgary as part of a group Skiing trip. Didn't really expect it to be as nice as Whistler, but it was a Whistler on a smaller scale and very enjoyable. No tipping hints during the entire stay, which was very good. Excellent service during meals, room service also very good.

They charge ridiculous prices for a room per night just because they can. Not worth the money when you compare to first class leading hotels who cater for their guests out with the 'normal hours' I will spend my hard earned cash in Canada next time where I am sure amenities, location and service are next to nothing compared with a hotel who shuts down their kitchen to guests. Your not a 5* resort so why charge that kind of price for 3* Time to stop trading off your loyal guests of 20 years and get into the real world of hotel management.

Room Tip: If your looking for space for the price you pay forget it. The hotel looks nice from the outside but...

This hotel has everything you need for a great skiing holiday. It is a short walk to a variety of ski slopes for all abilities. The bedrooms are warm and cosy and the lounge is an ideal place to meet friends and enjoy a per dinner drink. A five course meal is served complete with the hotel manager's large platter of at least twenty different local cheeses. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the middle of the village and has a good range of shops serving local delicacies.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have excellent views of the valley and the slopes.
