This was an OK hotel for what I have paid.
We've stayed 5 nights and i can say we had all the minimum amenities you could ask for from an all inclusive hotel.

the food was varied but not as much as i would have expected. the staff serving was quite quick to pick up the cutlery off the table. some of them did have some bad days since they were too rushed, frowning and not too responsive.

we did have a pool which could have been a bit bigger but it was just enough for the number of people that were staying at that time.

the rooms were clean and i think we got the stuff replaced about 3 times. we also had bath gowns and slippers which was quite nice. the air conditioning worked perfectly

the staff at the reception were too serious IMO but they did their job as much as they could.

we also had an animation team which would do some regular gym and pool games and at night we would be offered a random show be it a musical something like prestidigitation or karaoke.

the beach was ok and we never ran out of sun beds. the water was clean and we had some fun with some fairly big waves for a few days.

what i did not like is that the rooms were mainly orientated towards the sea (which is good) but the bad comes from the fact that each bar or disco next to the sea would crank up the volumes pretty high and it would only get really silence at about 4 AM in the morning.

other than this, i think i would recommend it to someone who never experienced AI in their life.

Room Tip: if possible, try to get a room at the highest floor possible. we got it at the 4th floor.

We have been at Golden Sands for many years, so we know everything there. And in the last couple of years we went to Astera, because we think this is the best choice there. Yes, the location is truly the best - it's in a quiet area, two hundred meters from the very center of the resort, so you are there in a couple of minutes of walk. The beach is across the street, a hundred meters away. And, yes, there is a private parking too. The hotel is nice and clean, food is good. Nice swimming pool. Wifi is not available in the rooms, so I had to buy a cheap local wifi card which suited me quite fine when needed (of course, one can go to the lobby and there's free wifi there, no prob.)
So, we definitely recommend this hotel to everybody.

Room Tip: sea view, of course, but the hotel is built in such a way, that no matter on which side your room will be, left or right, there's a sea view.

I got into this hotel via upgrade from another hotel. this hotel is very nice and clean and is at the begining of the promenade meaning it has a very good location and another promenade above the hotel.

The lacks of this hotel are:
No Wi-Fi in the rooms. Only at the reception, loby and dining room.
No safty deposit in the rooms and the ones in the reception are very pricey
The reception girls dont know english are are very hard to communicate with
Reception girls are not aware to the attractions around the and cannot advise

Benefits of this hotel:
Very large rooms
Nice food with large variety at the dining room
2 promenades next to the hotel. one at the shore and one above the hotel.
Nice pool
Close to the international casino

Room Tip: Higher floors has sea view

My wife and I spent our summer vacation in Astera. Great hotel - location, room, food, entertainment, everything was just great!
The hotel is located on the sea line in the middle of the resort. There is a private beach right in front of the hotel and everything is free - unbrellas, drinks, snacks, also outdoor pool on the terrace.
The indoor pool and spa are nice, especially in case of bad weather.
Big variety of food and thematic evenings, which I liked a lot.
There were different animation options available - both for adults and for kids.
The room was spacious, clean, nice, bathroom with bath, great sea view.
We enjoyed very much the music club at the hotel - there are a few halls playing different kind of music, so you will always find "your" music.
Also important is that there was free parking for hotel guests and you do need that in Golden Sands as it is really difficult otherwise to find a place.
We will definitely come back next year!

My husband and I had our wedding party organized in the Astera hotel.
If I had to organize a wedding party again - I would definitely choose this hotel again!
The venue, the organization, the menu, the service, the surprices, everything was more than perfect even for a very demanding bride as I was.
We stayed for a honeymoon holiday there as well. The hotel is right next to the sea line. The room was spacious and stylish, with sea view (all rooms here have sea view), very clean and tidy. The food is of great variaty and perfect quality. The staff is smiley and helpful. There are different animation programs available - we took some dance classes round the pool, gymnastics, but a lot more options available to choose from. There is also a big variety of fun options - disco with different music halls, restaurants, casino, spa. All hotel guests can use free sununbrellas and sunbeds at the beach, which is just 50m away from the hotel entrance, also beach bar available there.
For families with children there are children animation programs available so the little guests will not get bored, and the parents will have some time on their own.
It is just a great place to spend your vacation time, no matter if you want a relaxing holiday or an active one.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors have an amazing eagle-eye view over the sea and the nearby attractions (reisenrad, small Eifel tower cafe etc).
