Everything was wonderful. The service was top notch, the entire staff was very friendly and courteous. The food was excellent and varied. We dined in 2 of the 3 a la carte restaurants: Asian and Italian - in both food was delicious and the service was first class.
The rooms are cleaned every day. The minibar is refilled also every day. The last night of our stay there was even a party with live music and special cocktails. It was really fun!
Congratulations to the hotel management for the perfect organization!

the first reason we went for a second time at this hotel was mostly out 4-year daughter - she loved it so much the first time, we had to promise we would go again.
the second reason was that we had to compromise between distance (the shorter to drive the better) and quality (the best we could get within that distance). the romanian seaside is a tasteless, ripoff, bad quality, poor-serviced experience, so our next best guess was bulgaria. again.
so there we were.
we had to book a room as early as march, otherwise there was little chance we found any room at all. to my surprise, prices went up some 20-25% compared to last year, but considering the two above reasons we said what the heck, let's go.
we paid more, but all in all not one thing improved from last year.
1. food and drinks:
if we were pretty happy with accommodation and servicing, the food and drinks were terrible, especially the drinks. most of the food is deep fried, or grilled in oil anyway. there are fresh vegetables, however you get your share of pre-boiled canned vegetables as well. cakes and cookies - also terrible, full of artificial taste and coloring. as for drinks - unacceptable for a 4-star (aspiring to 5) hotel. local value brands at best.
2. location
close to the beach, nevertheless not ON the beach. you have to cross a street and get through a crowd of local shops to get to the beach. the beach itself is full of sunbeds and umbrellas, which are a ripoff. if you choose to walk along the beach, this isn't possible either, you have to walk along an endless line of souvenir shops, restaurant, cocktail bars and the sort, so the beach is nowhere in sight.
3. accommodation
all rooms are bigger and better serviced than usual. we went for a junior suite; besides a king size bed, a sofa and a coffee table, you could easily fit in a snooker table too. we opted also for a seaview room - poor choice though. we paid extra, although most rooms are built towards the seaside, and the worst thing of all, the noise at night coming from bars and discos on the beach was beyond acceptable levels.
the hotel is too big though for what it offers - meaning it can accommodate more people than it can sit on the pool or feed in the restaurant. in the morning you have to be early to get a sunbed by the pool. there is always a queue at the snack bar. you have to be early for lunch and dinner to get a seat on the porch. parking spaces are by far insufficient. and so on.
4. cleanliness
the strongest point of the establishment. everything is spotless, starting with the pool, the rooms, the restaurant and ending with the toilet in the lobby.
5. extras
everything extra is ridiculously expensive. wifi is free in the lobby, however pricey in rooms. unless you lived under a rock by now, wifi have become a commodity in recent years, no longer a luxury. the management at arabella are probably not aware of this. parking spaces also paid extra - a ludicrous 10 euro per day. same goes for spa and beach services. if you need an invoice, the bulgarian law (so they told me at least) requires that it's issued in bulgarian language and currency.
in the end, I was told that the hotel is expecting the get a 5-star certification for next year, which means, considering my experience, pricier but not better serviced. which means I will pick another place for next year.
...unless - the arabella management read the reviews on this site and up their game, especially on:
- food - please get rid of frying everything, there is a bunch of us who prefer healthier food, especially families with kids, comprising your main source of business?...
- drinks - at least try other suppliers for a change
- wi-fi and parking fares - need I say more?

Room Tip: the higher up the better

Dear Guests,
We would like to thank you for choosing Arabella hotel for your stay, for being our guests and for taking the time to post this useful, yet rather disappointing review. We truly sorry to hear that your demands towards the food were not met in full. Perhaps we are not what you expected and that's perfectly OK, as we have never claimed 5 stars category. There is no universal formula for everyone but we are sure that we have found the right blend and this is by far concurred by hundreds of reviewing visitors.

I staid at this hotel in 08/2011 and I recommend to everybody. The biggest minus from my side is the beach. the hotel has a privet beach but is little far from it - around 1 km.
In rest it's a great location ...

Not a baby-friendly hotel:
- difficult access to the beach - you have to walk by the pool, then go down approx 2 floor steps, cross a street and after that you get to the beach....quite a fight with a stroller, not to be done by one person alone
- all food cooked with Vegeta, mostly boiled in oil (so quite greasy)
- no stroller platforms
- loud music all around the hotel (there are many bars in the area, open until 4 am)

About the food and drinks: the food is between poor and acceptable, meaning that it is mostly precooked (frozen fish-fingers/potato chips an the whole range), canned baby carrots, no baby corner, mashed potatoes made from powder, food remained from lunch reused at dinner and so on, absolutely no food for babies under 2 years. I was lucky to bring the steamer and some veggies with me.
Food is served btw pre-announced hours. Between meals there is a minibar that offers some biscuits, gelly, ice cream, pseudo-sandwiches....all these also with limited schedule. Therefore what does Ultra All Inclusive mean????????

Only paid wi-fi
The pool water is not clean enough
The beach chairs cost approx 50 euro/7days, which is quite a lot in my opinion.
The juices are local ones, you don-t find international brands.

Advantages: very big room, with 2 twin beds, big bathroom, clean, modern room, water included in the minibar, soap in the bathroom, clean towels, beach&pool towels, fresh fruit at each meal.

Room Tip: If you want a room with no sun at noon time, choose one on the left side of the hotel (casino hotel...

This is our 3rd visit the Arabella so you know we must like the place!

We arrived at 4am but, as ever, the friendly staff welcomed us in their usual efficient way. The bedrooms have been refurbished this year and are spotless and clean (as is the rest of the hotel and grounds).

We only occasionally made breakfast, but when we did the choice was excellent and fresh. We never made lunch, the reason being that by the "quite" pool is a small restaurant making delicious kebabs, fresh warm rolls with choice of fillings, salad and melon and cherries. Soft drinks and beer are, also, available. Also, if you miss breakfast a continental breakfast is available up to midday.

The buffet restaurant has an excellent choice and food is always being replenished and so is always fresh. There are 3 theme restaurants - Italian, Asian and Bulgarian. You can easily book and go as often as you want - we never had trouble booking and it amazes me that these are not constantly sold out!

A big shout out must go to the staff - they work so hard and keep the place spotless and always, without fail, smile and acknowledge you.

The hotel is run by a "matron" figure who is always walking round inspecting the hotel. She ensures that very high standards are maintained and the staff are soon informed if anything meets here displeasure!

Finally just a small moan - they do not have any diet coke in any of the bars. We prefer this to "fat" coke and so bought bottles from the supermarket which we took to the bar with us. Additionally they appear to provide Teachers whisky and Bacardi but what comes out of the bottle is not the real stuff. I would rather see them pour from the original bottle rather than disappoint us when we taste this deception.

The hotel is full of repeat visitors and this is testament to the very high standards at this hotel - we will be back!!!

Room Tip: High up overlooking the pool gives you a sea view

Just back from 2 weeks, a great relaxing holiday. The hotel is very comfortable, the fridge in the room with daily beer, water, and soft drinks is a nice touch.
The food was very good with a wide choice at all meals. For those like me who like hot food to be hot the microwave is a welcome site!
The staff in the bars and restaurant can not do enough for you, and are friendly with it.
for the night owls their is a late bar till 2 am, covered by your all inclusive package!
Shame weather let us down on several days but happy to recommed this hotel.

Room Tip: Most rooms have good views as long as over look the pools, but even with pool view if at the side yo...

We went there to rest and have a peaceful vacation. All I can say is that we were charmed by everything in the hotel and highly recomment it to everyone who has the opportunity to go there. Its not the most luxurious hotel but everything else is incredible.
