“Heeeelllllppppppp - it's hell....!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

After arranging a quick break away, naturally hotels book up quickly and as this was one that fitted our budget and as it had the dates available we booked it. Excitement lingering the next step was to check here "trip advisor" I just wish I had been sensible enough to realise that this hotel marked by one person as "fawlty towers" was definitely not the place to be going. However, holiday booked off we went...

Let's say I am sooooo glad we arrived under the cover of darkness (out of pure embarrassment if nothing else) - the pavements leading to the hotel were far from safe (definitely not a place for a family with young children).

The pool had certainly seen better days (but served its purpose and the life guard was friendly enough - happily chatting to all and sundry).

The look and smell of the food was disgusting so needless to say we did not eat there choosing to dine out instead (we could eat out for less than £15.00 each night with drinks for 2 of us), local bars are friendly although I did get somewhat argumentative as we were constantly hounded by people trying to coax us into their diner.

Anyway back to the topic, the lifts were not safe (disabled one on the other hand was fine) mainly resembelling a cupboard where the door slams behind you and you can feel and the wall on the inside - there were a few scrapes using the lift when we were there. We had no air conditioning so it was boiling. The shower didn't work, but credit where it's due it was fixed the following day. Staff were friendly and I can honestly say if it hadn't been for the receptionist I would have checked straight back out possibly taking the option to sleep on the loungers by the pool (but choose carefully as many are cracked or broken).

The on site shop is smaller than my utility room but looking back served its purpose selling beer, soft drinks, sweets, crisps and a souvenir or two, but again staff were friendly.

If I had taken my son there would have been no way on this earth we would have stayed.

Just one last thing this hotel has single pane windows and s located at one of the furthest points from the beach - even so, you can hear music from the nightclubs 21 hours each day, the only time it stops is between 9m and 11am. So very noisy.

So, in short a very worn, outdated, unsafe hotel - but with lovely staff.
More suitable for youngsters looking for a cheap place to put there head and have a wash..

Would I go again...?
I Loved Bulgaria but hated this hotel...!!!
I actually cried myself to sleep the first night here as I was so upset that the tour operator rated this hotel so highly...?!!!
Never again ...!!!

Happy holidays.

OMG where do i start this is a classic case of a hotel from hell i kid you not!!!!

Its a total embarrassment to Bulgaria and shame on the following tour operators who send un suspecting innocent holiday makers here..

Balkan Holidays
Thomas cook
Thompsons
Co-op
First choice

The food is totally disgusting with last nights dinner from the hostal side being served to the hotel side i use the word hotel loosely my boyfriend ate twice in the dining room only to spend two days in bed with diarrhoea and stomach problems a real danger to young and old alike i couldn't touch any of the food and i'm not a fussy eater the thought of it was enough to make me retch!!!!

Drinks are limited to wine and beer only and all soft drinks are rola cola type cheap nasty pops, and cordial type orange juice even the coffee or tea couldn't save the day they were vile....

The pool was filthy with a film of dirt and oil coating it see pictures i will up load for you... the pool is also suffering with subsidence making it very dangerous with floor tiles sticking up at all angles easy to cut yourself... the pool was finally cleaned 10 days after our arrival after my boyfriend was spotted taking photos...

The rooms are disgusting with even the clean towels and bedding sporting old stains the floor was never brushed or mopped in the two weeks we were there no tv or air conditioning as promised we had to hire a fan for 3 Lvs a day...

This hotel is used as a youth hostal for eastern european students see photos they were rude ignorant and very ill mannered pushing in the lifts taking over the pool area 200 kids aged 16-19 there favourite past times seemed to be throwing burning toilet paper from balconies glass bottles smashing at 3 in the morning with loud rap music keeping us all awake smashing the lift windows and toothpaste and other toiletries smeared over the doors etc....the "teachers" who were looking after them had no control with them coming in at all hours in loud drunken states...

The staff were miserable and un helpful, bar two members of staff... We were all in the same boat and many paid up to a £1000 to be transferred to a bed and breakfast near by all ages even younger couples without children were hopelessly depressed in this hotel which would serve well as a prison in fact i'm sure prison would be nicer...

If you have already booked this hotel my heart goes out to you i would see your tour operator immediately and up grade believe me you really don't want to put yourself throu this hell...

I have been away to many hotels all inclusive and have never had to leave a review like this it doesn't do Bulgaria and favours which is a total shame as bulgaria is lovely the beach is gorgeous and i would return again but want to forget all about the hotel Vas@@@ta what a dump it needs knocking down for health and safety reasons go at your own peril....

We were prepared for the worst having read the reviews. It was no where near as bad as expected. Its a place to lay your head and in close proximity to the nightlife and beach. It was cleaned regularly, towels and bedding changed. fridge and tv included. Pool was cleaned daily. Yes its old and tired but for the price what do you expect.

Room Tip: There is no aircon so although a room with a view is nice its also very hot with morning sun

on arrival we were not shown to our room, had to find it ourselves! I was in a 3 star few year ago and it was gleaming. In june we were in a 4 star and you could eat your food off the floor so i wasnt expecting too much with a 2 star but was expecting it to be clean and rust free! boy was i wrong i cried and wanted to go home paid extra to go to a 3 star part of the hotel which is much better, this hotel/ hostel is full of kids which i dont mind but they wernt like normal kids, they were hundreds of kids with a handful of teachers who cant control them.the beds never got changed once and had to beg for some toilet roll.the breakfast was basic,i upgraded to 3 star but got same 2 star breakfast with dirty plates. Its a shame as the resort is lovely as is the country, ive been to bulgaria 4 times but please DO NOT go to this hotel as it will put you off your holiday save up even £50 more and go elsewhere

Room Tip: from the front high up rooms the scenes are beautiful but noisy, rooms at the 3 star are quieter but...

OK the hotel is basic but you pay 3 star money and you get 3 star quality. The hotel provides everything that you could need. The twin rooms are basic but they are CLEAN. That's all you need. The pool is very well maintained and is cleaned daily. The rooms all have balcony's with chairs and the view's are nice. There are sun loungers all around the pool and there is also a pool bar. The shop at the poolside also serves a good variety of local beers and plenty of basic items that you may need. The hotel is located right by the water park which at only 33 lev £16 is a brilliant day out. The beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk and there are plenty of shops on the way. At the beach there are plenty of water sports Kayak's, Pedallos, para sailing, Banana boats and Jet ski's. There is also a diving centre and for 100 lev £50 you can have a great time and have a first time 40 minute dive with brilliant instruction.
There are some brilliant restaurants including Angels steak house which had brilliant service and the food was beautiful. There is a Mexican restaurant on the sea front with brilliant service and beautiful food also. Both of these restaurants have a well priced and extensive menu.
The Golden sands resort is beautiful and i recommend to anyone to pay a visit to this beautiful area of a beautiful country.
