“Loved Our Stay and Great Value For Money - will DEFO be back”
Reviewed September 27, 2012 via mobile

We have just stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. First impressions when we turned up were great. We paid very cheap for our 2 weeks half board so was a bit nervous at the hotels quality but as soon as we got here we realised there was no need. Even at 2am when we saw cleaners working. We have never been to a cleaner hotel. Rooms are spacious and were cleaned every day and our beds stripped ever 2nd. I would advise booking a room facing the pool as we had the sun all day, wouldn't have liked to be at the other side of the hotel. We had read bad reviews about the food, the breakfasts were a strange combination, had pasta, meat sandwich spread stuff, odd runny eggs and bacon bits with more fat than bacon. But there is also different breads for toast, plenty fruit, and cereal so we went every morning as there were things to eat but don't expect a british fry up. Supper was much the same. An odd combination of food but we just had a little bit of everything and we never left hungry, so unless ur very fussy u should be fine. The only down side was we wished we had paid the little extra for all inclusive as we would have used it up with drinking at night as drinks for non inclusive guests are quite expensive in the hotel. Also we wouldn't have gone any later in the year as everything was open when we got there but by our last day half the shops and bars had shut and waterparks and supermarkets etc had shut too. Also the marvel is in a good area.. About 5/10 mins walk from the (ery busy and loud) main street. Will DEFO be going back to the marvel and would recommend to anyone.

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 young children) stayed here at the end of August. We had read the reviews, after booking, and was a little worried about our stay. When we arrived all was well, everything seemed fine, room spacious and the sun was shining, which is always a good start! There were always beds free by the pool at about 7.30am and more became free as the day went on. The meals were the problem they were samey but this wasn't really a problem, the food hall was like eating in a zoo! People had no manners and often pushed in in the que. I would steer clear of the chicken as didn't seem to be cooked properly, still pink in the middle. At the start of our holiday we decided to eat at 6pm as the dining hall was at it's quietest, but in our second week the staff on the door changed the rules and made us come back at 7pm as the top floors had to come at this time. When we asked why they said the hotel had got busier! So we came back later and it was rammed!! There were ques, it was a fight for the tables that were left! So each night after we went back at 6pm and again he said no 7pm, we argued the fact that we had done this but it was packed at this time and the hall was near empty at 6pm. He did on a couple of occassions let us in, so beware of this.
If you need anything extra for your room eg. soap, ask the maids, reception staff not really helpful. We were told we were only allowed one soap between four of us for two weeks!
We had no trouble with cleanliness or towel changing in our room.
We felt this hotel couldn't really be bothered with the all inclusive guests and it was a very basic all inclusive hotel, no little extras.
I would recommend booking with Balkan holidays as it was a lot cheaper than Thomson, more reasonable! I've told friends i would recommend Bulgaria, Sunny beach, but not this hotel!!

Room Tip: Sea view rooms were nice lots to look at, but do remember it's not on the beach there is a hotel...

I cannot fault this hotel for a beach resort accomodation. The rooms were huge beds were a good size for twins and soooo comfortable. Even the little girl's sofa bed was comfy.....I wanted it but she wouldn't let anyone get in it! The reception area/lifts/toilets were constantly being cleaned so always looked fab. The pool area was cleaned every day but was a little green on walls/edges at times....I think due to a lack of chlorine but this was good for us as I hate over chlorinated water (and pool was still clean as filtered etc). I agree with previous review that more sunbeds needed for size of hotel but you couldn't fit them anywhere so will have to make do! The reception staff were friendly enough (if not maybe a little shy due to language barrier perhaps) and even gave my little girl an all inclusive tag for her toy doggy so if he was lost it would come back to hotel. Entertainment was ok but felt a bit more would have been better. Kids disco was great. Seemed very quiet at night even with a room looking onto entertainment area so great for an early night/kids. Food was good for what I was expecting......good choice of hot meals that changed daily and rarely repeated. Cold selection and breakfast seemed a little samey but did change slightly and probably can't really do anymore than they did. Waiters sometimes made us giggle as not exactly brilliant but friendly. One liked to take full plates of food but left empty ones for ages.....almost seemed to be looking for the types that they needed rather than what was finished with. We went all inclusive as it was £50 more so we were more than happy with what we got for that. Spent very little in the end as even meals/drinks outside all inclusive are really cheap. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: sea view was limited as victoria palace is in the way but still recommended as lovely hotel to look...

We stayed here for a week at beginning of Sept 2012. Check in was quick. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Air con worked fine - if a bit noisy at night. No noise from outside once balcony doors were closed. Mini fridge and hairdryer in room. No kettle though so bring your own travel kettle as we did. Towels changed daily and room cleaned daily. Bedding not changed throughout the week. Even though we were bed and breakfast we did not bother having read such bad reports. Hotel is in a good location couple of mins from beach and approx 15/20 mins walk to centre ie. Flower Street.
