“Was an ok holiday.”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

2 weeks was too long to stop at the hotel.
Gym hahah rubbish hardly nothing there and what was there was broke.
Pool cold and small.
Food not the best BUT you could always make a meal. (Becarefull eating beans I found bits of metal in the bean 3 days running)
Alcohol served in plastic cups but you could ask for pint glasses.
Staff not the friendliest and not much help.
Hotel right on main road.
But the biggest problem I had was the Germans. The hotel was full of them young and old, all rude loud.
Good points 1 lev to nessbar which is a must, beer cheap and food cheap if you look around.
Waterparks close by and there both good.
If I went back to sunny Beach I'd go self catering.
Not the greatest holiday iv had( worse in fact) but I still enjoyed my self even if the weather wasnt the best

i travelled with my friend and stayed here for a week this september, first time in bulgaria, loved sunny beach hotel location brilliant, the rooms were ok and clean towels every day if needed some of the staff were pleasant and helpful others very rude, the biggest problem was the food which was really repetative and only warm, food was used cooked again or used as soup, we were a/i but ate out 4 times in a 7 day period, the meals out were lovely, freshly cooked and hot the shower was really spacious, numerous people complained about the food to be told by the manager that the hotel catered for 8 nationalaties this comment was absurd they only catered to people from eastern europe, the manager was rude and autocratic, we were also quoted 49 levs each to keep our room on when in the hotel rules and regulations book that was in our room ,it states quite clearly the price to keep the room on is in fact 40 levs total we complained and paid 40 but were then cold shouldered by the staff in question, the turkish bath is fantastic and worth a visit, would not stay here again and would not do all inclusive in bulgaria

Just returned from a week at the sun palace sunny beach. Thankfully the weather was great so we didn't have to spend too much time at the hotel. We were on holiday for our wedding aniversary and went away for some sunshine and a rest. On arrival at the hotel the reception staff were not that helpfull. The lift was smelly so used the stairs for the rest of the time we were there. The food was always the same and it would have helped if it was presented better as the odd meal was quite edible. Hotel entertainment there was none really. The rooms were spacious but in need of a makeover. The shower was ok but the water didn't drain away so every time you had a shower by the end of it the water was up to your ankles. Sunny Beach resort itself was ok but lots of places had already shut down so by the end of our week there you were limited to the number of places to go. The best things about our time there were Nessibar it is beautifull, our night out at Khan's tent brilliant night out and some lovely people we met form Coventry and Leicester. If we went to Sunny Beach again we would not go all inclusive.

Arrived at Sun Palace at 2-30am booked in at reception was handed a blue plastic bag which contained a ham and cheese sandwich 1apple fairy cake. THESE WERE TAKEN FROM BEHIND
THE RECEPTION DESK AND WERE PAST THERE BEST have no idea how long the food had been there. we got to our room which was a good size facing the main road on the 3rd floor.
on opening the fridge we were expecting to find a bottle of water no chance. We would no drink the tap water as we were unsure if it was safe to do so. When we went to the get breakfast we had cornflakes and toast. There were people milling around looking for something to eat it looked as though the food had been standing for sometime. there was butterbeans in sauce .german sausage scrambbled eggs and hard boiled eggs. Dinner times consisted of pork potatoes with herbs on top chicken which was raw in the middle. The food was put out 30mins before opening time hence lukewarm at opening time. HAD SEEN FLIES CRAWLING OVER UNCOVERED CAKES. Decided not to eat in hotel food inedible certain manager was called as the chips were inedible dried up she said they were ok but would not eat one herself . that many people complaining cook brought out fresh food. My wife decided to make the bed and she found the mattress covered in blood stains. The only good thing about this hotel is the location . FORGET EVENING ENTERTAINMENT ONE OLD MAN ON AN ORGAN ODD GAME OF BINGO. ITS BEYOND BELIEF LITTLE RESTAURANTS CAN DO FANTASTIC MEALS FOR NEXT TO NOTHING YET THIS PLACE CANT COMPETE . rant over

the hotel itself was nice, the floors shining, lifts worked, the rooms were cosy and bathroom had big shower and hairdryer. The only problems with the hotel were a roof leak, not very good english, food non variety the meals were the same everyday with 4 item choices and soup, did not like. oh always lock up valuables. The hotel is next to a supermarket, taxi, sunny beach strip and beach. Bus regular and 1lev. 5min walk to aquapark. lots of bars only 2 clubs. overall clean hotel need improvements but good location 3-4/5.

Room Tip: rooms are nice just avoid roof leakages.

Stayed 18/9/2012 to 24/9/2012. The best thing about this hotel is the location, very close to the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. We arrived at around 4.30am, we couldnt check in until the following afternoon as no rooms available, and slept on the sofa in the lounge area, the security man thought we were just hanging out and forced us to get up and go back to the reception desk, the reception informed him of our situation and told us to go back and wait on the sofa (all in Bulgarian of course, without an apology for the rough treatment). Finally got to room at 1pm. Clean and tidy, towels changed daily. However, the chambermaid argued with us when we asked her to change the bedding after the 3rd day, and then she stopped cleaning the floor, she never cleaned the bathroom apart from replacing toilet rolls. (good idea to have walk with tissues or a toilet roll when going out for the day as the public toilets never had toilet roll, and charged 0.50 leva for the priviledge). However, very few of the staff were friendly and talkative at the hotel, the breakfast chefs were very rude and only 1 chef per morning serving fried eggs or pancakes. Same breakfast selection every morning, same food selection at evening meal every evening and apparently the same food lunchtime. A gentleman complained to one member of staff during the evening meal as he was so frustrated that they didnt have a clue about all inclusive as the food selection and quality was very poor and deteriorating daily, they had no intuition to change the style of foods served or desserts, roast pork served every day, by the 4th day the roast pork was looking very off and dried up in places after the first 2 days, old meat placed on top of fresh meat, the fish was not cooked properly, rice served 1 day only, potato wedges or fries, boiled potatoes, roast pork, some form of white fish, spaghetti, pasta shapes every evening, beef balls 1 evening, dessert selection was extremely poor it was the same type of cake every day, at The free drinks were limited, only 1 diluted juice freely available, and carbonated drinks and limited alcohol available during restaurant hours, better drinks served after the restuarant had closed, and I mean closed, the doors were locked! If you wanted alcohol after the restaurant closed had to go to the bar and purchase drinks. I was told off in Bulgarian for trying to pour 2 hot chocolates from the drinks machine into 1 cup (was a big cup), whoever this female staff member was, she was shouting at me, I couldnt believe how rude she was. No point complaining to the hotel, they couldnt speak english well enough to be bothered. It was annoying to see the staff sat in the restaurant, eating at the same time as guests and picking up and eating the food as they walked round. One morning the 2nd chef was making omeletes for the staff, a new guest asked if he could have some, she replied no, only pancake or fried eggs. Pizza was made in the afternoon, but I've never seen anyone make pizza like that absolutely terrible, made with cheese not suitable for pizza. The animators were only around outside if the weather was ok, otherwise they were not to be seen, evening entertainment was poor. All the guests grumbled every morning and evening about the poor food. This hotel needs to be a room only hotel and the restaurant should be shut down. The majority of staff need to go on courses to teach them interpersonal skills and how to treat guests. Loved the sunshine when it finally put in an appearance after the 2nd day of rain, however the season is coming to a close and caters for the young people.

Room Tip: Stayed on the fourth floor, which overlooked the roof of the restaurant and the pool, the view was o...
