ignore all the negative comments posted about this hotel. in a nutshell the manager/owner runs a tight ship with rules that ensure the place is kept clean and quiet. i actually booked due to the negative comments as i certainly wanted a hotel room which was free of noise and disruption after a certain time of night. not everyone wants to be up til the early hours. a little gem. would definately go back.

Beware you will be charged for every little thing at this place, including walking in the hotel reception barefoot (fine 50 lev), ANY noise including talking above a whisper after midnight (fine 200 lev),leaving door card in electric power slot (100 lev per person in the room), the management will ask for your passports upon arrival, you must ensure you get them back the next day or they will be held ransom in lieu of fictitious fines. We were moved after the first night apparently due to technical issues, although we did not have any problems, then our new room didn't have working air conditioning and despite reporting this every day it was not fixed for the entire week we were there and temperatures were in the 30's. The new room also didn't have a locking door which was also not fixed the entire week, although to be honest it hardly mattered as security let themselves into your rooms to 'spot check' whenever they wanted including when people were in there getting changed, quite disturbing. Food in the hotel small portions and when I found plastic in my pizza all I got was a shrug and acknowledgement that there was plastic in my food! The pool was freezing and nowhere near enough sun beds. the good points are clean and the cleaners and night receptionist lovely, all other staff very dodgey especially the managers who stand watching young girls in the pool all day shouting at every little noise including laughter. Maybe Bulgarian locals might like this place but they definitely didn't like Londoners. I must stress the management seem to only want to try and get money out of tourists and fine for absolutely ridiculous things so please beware.

Room Tip: Insist on working air conditioning it gets very hot, pool view essential as the other choice is a ca...

Me and a group of 6 other girls just returned from a girlie holiday to Sunny Beach in Bulgaria. We booked this hotel because it was cheap and looked lovely in the photos, we couldn't have been more wrong. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We were threatened with police 3 times, threatened to be kicked out within 2 hours of our arrival for chatting in our rooms and the manager tried to fine us for everything and anything, even though we hadn't done anything wrong. The staff are extremely unwelcoming and rude, the hotel food is disgusting and overpriced (my friend found a lump of hairy plastic in her food and all the waitress did was shrug) the night time security guard is aggressive and unreasonable and made us feel scared and unwelcome. Me and my friend were told to move rooms because of "technical problems" and were moved to a room in which the aircon didn't work and various things were broken, which they then attempted to fine us for. Reception staff tried to keep our passports until the end of the holiday so they could hold them until we paid fines. We were threatened with the police for having our tele on at 1am when we were infact out of the hotel at this time. Staff came into the rooms unannounced at inappropriate times, and security was sent to check our rooms when we were out on a regular basis.

Atmosphere in the hotel is horrible and unwelcoming, we were scared to do anything and felt very on edge, it put a huge dampener on our holiday and made us worry about the amount and what next they would try to fine us for. Disgusting hotel, never EVER stay here.

Room Tip: All rooms are horrible dont stay here

Rooms were spotless, spacious no issues there. Yes there is a set of rules, and prices for breakages on the hotel door, we had no issues, although some of the chairs on the balcony are a bit old so check they look ok before you use. 10/15 mins to the beach, so nice quiet location, just be a bit wary at night some of the pavements and the traffic on the way to/from beach are lethal.

Food not worth it, best eating out, iris restaurant around the corner worth trying. No issues with the manager/owner as others have mentioned. Not a lot of sunbeds and pretty much used up quiet early, a lot of towels left on sunbeds early and nobody turns up till afternoon to use it, so be up early if you want a sunbed.

Overall, don't worry if you are going, no real issues. Suits families and couples better than groups of youngsters though.

Im going to this hotel on 30th june and wondering if anyone else is going to be there at the same time??

Having read the previous reviews i am very unsure about what to expect at this hotel after so many bad reviews. To be fair me and my partner are only wanting somewhere to put our head at night as im sure well be out most days and night. How far is the hotel walking from the centre and the beach???

Also does anyone know the prices for entrance on the waterpark? Also what are average prices for sprits and cocktails??

after reading reviews last year regarding this hotel[some good some not so good] we booked for 2 weeks 3/6-17/6. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought when we arrived and went to breakfast we were the only ones in the hotel it was so quiet. no buffet breakfast, served via a menu by Bulgarian staff with limited use of English but survived. It continued to menu service for 4 days and then gradually people started arriving. by 2nd week there was about 30 of us. lovely pool ,rooms were clean and fresh towels everyday and cleaned everyday.menu breakfast was great compared to buffet but continental and could always find something to eat. bar staff were great and pool was cleaned and serviced everyday. .A little bit further out for us to walk [round the corner from bus station] but deffo handy for bus trips etc., loads of cafe's/bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: we were on 3rd floor with pool view and got sun from 8 am to 4 pm. lower floors got trees and bushes...

I was very worried having read the reviews on this hotel online and I had no reason to be. The hotel was fantastic. Our room was on the top floor and was HUMONGOUS. We had a great pool view but a little shame about the building site close by (did not effect our holiday in any way as work had stopped for season) the wet rooms are great and the rooms have air conditioning and big balconies. We had one of the biggest rooms in the hotel but have heard all the rooms are spacious. The staff were all fantastic especially Ivan and Stan who were the pool bartenders. They were always smiling and chatting away to the tourists and would do anything for anyone. I will definitely miss those guys. As for the hotel having many rules, these were rules that made the hotel a nice place. The pool is small so no inflatables, no shouting etc after 11pm, no bare feet in restaurant etc. All we're perfectly justified rules and didn't effect us whatsoever. Many reviews mentioned the owner's however we sat next to the owners every morning for breakfast and they were very pleasant and I heard it from the horses mouth that they DO NOT treat the staff badly. They were all very nice people. The food at the hotel was very hit and miss but having been to Bulgaria 12 times, this is common in most hotels. Out of all the hotels I've stayed in, the boomerang was certainly one of the best and most definitely the cleanest. Can't wait to go back next year. And all of the tourists I met at the hotel didn't have a single bad word to say about this hotel or its staff!
