The hotel is not as bad as the reviews make out, maids were in the rooms every day cleaning , fresh bedding every 2 days and towels, the bed is one of the best i have slept in , bathrooms are in need of a refurb but were clean , the toilet system is loud and at first scares you to death with the noise it makes, we went b&b but the breakfast look and tasted terrible, so we ate out ,the pool bar was great had a great time with the staff and the reception lady was polite, try eating at the the harp bar and loctus never had a bad meal

We've just arrived back from a 2 week holiday at this hotel. We booked last minute and got 2 weeks for the both of us for under £500 on a room only basis so weren't expecting much. We were pleasantly suprised. We were originally given a ground floor room, but I asked if it would be possible to move to a higher level and were given a 3rd floor room with no problem at all. The room itself was small but clean and, it's got everything you need including a tv, fridge and a really good power shower!!! The cleaners were in every single day without fail. The weather at the start of our holiday was cloudy but when it started to heat up over the fortnight, that's when we missed air conditioning, which the room didnt have. I do admit it became uncomfortably hot during the night, even with the balcony door open. But hey, we survived and it didnt spoil our holiday. The hotel pool is huge and there's always loads of beds available. The pool next door at the Azurro Hotel is nice and we tended to use that one. When you come out the back entrance of the hotel there are loads of really nice pubs and restaurants. The Picadilly and Harp were particular favourites of ours and the food was really good. We didn't have a bad meal in our 2 weeks there and the bulgarian food is excellent especially their sizzling plates 'sache' and chicken and pork skewers. You can have a really good meal for 2 with 4 drinks for £12, the prices are fab. We've visited Sunny Beach on 5 occasions and I'd definately go back to the Sredets as the location is excellent and the hotel is lovely. The icing on the cake was when we checked out at 3am in the morning and the receptionist handed over a bag with some water, sandwiches and a cake bar for our breakfast!! We had a crackin time and would advise anyone to give Sunny Beach and the Sredets a go!

My partner and I stayed at the Sredets early July 09 and really enjoyed our stay there, we went on a really cheap late deal so didn't expect too much and our room was obviously one of the last ones sold as we ended up right in the corner by the restaurant on the ground floor and were usually woken up quite early by the early breakfasters eating outside our door, it was probably more of a shock to them seeing us emerge from our slumber onto our patio still half asleep than us seeing them sitting there eating. This room didn't have air conditioning either which we could have done with as the week went on and it got hotter, but it was very clean and fresh towels everyday. We got on fabulously with the staff and they were always very friendly, we offered to buy them a drink and gave them the odd cigarette which they really appreciated and looked after us at the bar. The lager in the hotel is twice the price as outside but at 2 lev this was still under a £1. At this time of year there was always a sunbed to be had and we found people didn't bother putting towels on in the morning to save them, though i don't know if it would happen later in the season. there are some lovely restaurants around this area, but don't always go for the obvious ones on the main street behind the hotel, i can't remember the name of our favourite one as it was last year we went but 4 of us had a starter, main course, wine, beer, and cocktails (we were there all night) for 112 lev, which is approx £55 and that was for really fabulous bulgarian food, you can eat a lot cheaper too and there are plenty of restaurants that cater for the typical English food too, a full english breakfast would cost about 5 lev (£2.50). The weather at the beginning of July was around 23 degrees, plenty hot enough for us, but we did have a couple of thunderstorms that were fabulous to watch and lasted about 1/2 hr, then we were back out sunbathing. We are going back to Sunny Beach again in May for 2 weeks this time as we loved it so much last time and hope to venture further out of Sunny Beach and Nessbar (which is a must to visit, it is so quaint, although a bit touristy) and see a bit more of Bulgaria this time. We aren't going back to Sredets as it was quite expensive without being on a late deal but I would recommend it for couples, there is no entertainment there and nothing for children apart from the small childrens pool. it is about a 10/15 min walk to the main part of Sunny beach, but there are a lot of bars and restaurants all the way there, and we only bothered to go right into town once, this is where it is the most livliest with the young ones, (we're in our 40's), been there done that, the beach is 5/10 mins walk and is beautiful and is clean and very big.
Don't expect posh and you won't be disappointed.

we have just returned from hotel sredets in sunny beach. on arriving we thought oh no but honestly its fine. we stayed in the small block overlooking the huge pool area which was well used and great. lots of sun loungers so no probs getting one . not a lot of shade though. sredets is 5 mins walk from the gorgeous sand of sunny beach. breakfast at hotel wasnt up to much but hey thats fi,ne considering if its just for breakfast. sunny beach is so so cheap. 44pence for a pint. £2 for a pizza. nice one. steer clear of the fast food vendors though, the pizza is naff. sredets is 10 min walk to sunny beach centre and flower street so is quiet enough for a good nights kip. fruit sellers in the street can be quite annoying but just say no thanks and that you are allergic to fruit and they leave you alone. for all of you who want to watch the football, there is a bar/ restraunt just off flower street called malina which has ab out 10 screens and a big beer is only 40 pence. cool. anyway enough said. if we returned to sunny beach, we would not hesitate in using hotel sredets again, happy holidays ; )
