I stayed here for two weeks to start my first hitch in the oilfields of North Dakota. The facilities are nice for a small oil town but what really makes this place SPARKLE are the people. From the owner (Todd Morse, from Fargo) to the onsite managers Bill and Lynnette Pomerville and their daughter Kayla, I was made to feel like family from the first minute I set foot on the property.

The hot breakfast (sausage patties, biscuits and hearty sausage gravy) served every morning truly hits the spot for a country boy like me. Plus the 24-hour coffee pot and freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies put out every evening make guests feel like much more than just an account number in the hotel's reservation system.

The bed linens are super soft, the beds are comfortable and the bath towels are softer than those commonly found at more much expensive national chains (think Holiday, Comfort, etc.).

You can't go wrong here if you're staying in Killdeer.

Room tip: The laundry facilities are located in the newer wing but are still a short walk for those guests staying in the main building.

Had booked this hotel due to location in travel to Theodore Roosevelt NP. There are few options in the area outside of Medora and Dickinson. The room was modest but clean. Virtually all others staying at the hotel were oil service workers. The stay was surprisingly quiet considering the other occupants. The breakfast wasn't much but there is a very good diner in town that served a great breakfast.

Thanks for being our guest! The vast majority of the guest working in the oil industry work some very long, hard hours so it is typically very quiet from early evening and through the night. Hope you enjoyed your time at Theodore Roosevelt NP, it is an amazing part of the country. Thanks!

Cheapest place to stay in Killdeer. There's a reason for that; it's old and doesn't have some of the amenities you expect in modern motels. My room faced the parking lot, so cars literally park 5' from my window, and it's oilfield, so some young guys with thumping car stereos after the bars closed made sure I got up on time. Sounds in the hallway sounded like they were in my room.
For its age, it's well maintained. Stay in the new wing if you have any say in the choice.

Sorry that you had to deal with noise during your visit. Occasionally, the managers do need to remind guests that others may be on different shifts and may be sleeping. After seeing your review, we have taken a close look at hallway noise in the building that you were staying in, and have installed addition soundproofing to the hallway doors in order to do what we can to minimize noise for our guests. Thanks for the "heads up" and hopefully when you visit Killdeer again you will give us another try.

I grew up in Killdeer, and was familiar with this hotel before it was remodeled and the addition was added. We stayed over thanksgiving weekend, had 3 rooms booked (parents and brothers family) when we arrived we were all upgraded to kitchenette rooms, which was great with kids. Everything was brand new and clean. The new addition is great. Very impressed, and we will stay again when traveling back home.

This was my favorite hotel in Killdeer, It felt the most homey, better quality towels and linens, my room was very clean, and it was a decent sized room. The parking situation is not the best but usually you can manage to get parked pretty decently.
