This is a true find (although many others had found it before).
The atmosphere and service are casual but professional. In that way it is similar to many of the chain restaurants that make their living on consistency of service and product. It has a small but decent wine list and a pretty good selection of beers. Unlike many chains the servers appear to be intimately familiar with the products and pairings that are appropriate.
But the food is FANTASTIC! We started by sharing the pickerel (walleye) strips, which were perfectly coated and correctly cooked (not over cooked, as is the tendency). The dipping sauce was superb.
We next had salads. Fresh and large they were a trat, most especially the caprese salad which deserves special note. It was one of the best caprese salads I have had in a long time set off by a high quality balsalmic and very fresh basil… WELL DONE!!
Portions of the main are quite large and all of the accompanying dishes were perfectly cooked. I had a perfectly cooked steak (filet), my wife had the Asian sparfe ribs. I found the sauce (which Is heavily anise based) somewhat over powering but my wife loved it. The ribs were fall apart tender.
The flourless chocolate cake, which we shared, was a significant portion and well made. Presentation was just right.

Cozy place in downtown Grand Forks. Had the Angus burger which was delicious with wasabi garlic mashed potato. My husband had a steak which was excellent. We shared the spinach salad which was generous. I had a hibernating frog martini which also was lovely and a bloody mary. Waitlist is very long though and on the weekend you have to call 1.5 hours ahead according to the host.

Love this place! Loud enough that you don't hear your own heart beat. Quiet enough you can actually carry on a conversation. My steak was a perfect medium rare and the accompanying risotto was cooked to perfection. Excellent all around!

Limited menu and overpriced. Food wasn't worth the price. Looks cool but not really very comfortable. Nice staff.
