Hilton Garden Inn Grand Forks-UND
Ranked #5 of 28 Hotels in Grand Forks
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 14, 2007

We spent a Saturday night in at the the Grand Forks Hilton Garden Inn and were very impressed! The room was large and clean with a desk and aero chair. Reception was friendly and very helpful. The Sunday buffet breakfast for $8.95 was a bargain and the service, bringing coffee and taking away plates, was excellent.

it has been our good fortune to be able to read the reviews of other Trip Advisors reviews and have had excellent experiences following the reviewers' opinions. There is a reason that the Hilton Garden Inn is #1 on the list. It is the best in Grand Forks for service, cleanliness, and room quality.

This hotel is by far the best hotel in Grand Forks...the lobby is absolutely beautiful and the front desk staff was very professional and greeted me with a BIG SMILE. I picked this hotel after doing some research on the other local hotels and I found they werent the quality of the Hilton Garden Inn. We had a King Room but was asked if we would like a complimentary upgrade to a "Evolution Room" it had a sleep number king bed, a flat panel t.v and a ergonomic chair and WHOA was it spacious! We stayed for 2 nights and we loved every minute, they even served fresh baked cookies every day at 5pm, we ordered room service once and it came within 30 minutes. On our last day we went to the restaurant and ate at the breakfast buffet for 8.95. When I come back to GF i am definitely eating at the Hilton Garden Inn.

*tip* become a Hiton Honors Member, because you get free water on checkin and a upgrade in room if available. ITs well worth it and its for free!

Hello Trip Advisor Members,

I have spent 3 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Grand Forks. The hotel has quite nice amenities such as coin operated guest laundry, pool, workout facilities, free wireless internet, free business center.

I do however have a couple of comments that anyone considering this hotel should keep in mind. The first being the hotel is very close to railroad tracks at a 4 way intersection. This means that a few times a day and night you hear the trains horn going as it passes the hotel. If found it a little odd to find a Hilton brand hotel so close to railroad tracks.

The second issue I had was that we booked our stay through Expedia and got a relatively good stay rate for this hotel. Because of the good rate we received the staff at the Hilton placed us on a floor undergoing a complete carpet overhaul. The contruction went from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. We inquired about changing to a non construction floor, however, the staff would was a little confrontational since they thought we had such a good rate through Expedia that we should tolerate the construction noise. Many people on our floor found it odd that they were placed on this construction floor too. Our shoes would stick to floor as we went down the haulway because of the old glue on the floor from the previous carpet.

The room was good, however, the confrotational staff member, train horn and the fact that we were put on a noisy construction floor due to the good Expedia rate we booked online I would consider staying somewhere else on my next visit.

The Hilton Garden Inn is right next to the University of North Dakota campus; it has beautiful landscaping and seems new and fresh. Parking is free. Those attributes are part of the reason we're glad we made it a stop on our driving trip from St. Paul to Winnipeg. The Great Getaway Plus package combined bed and breakfast, which included an excellent buffet with made-to-order pancakes, omelets and eggs. The room was spacious and had a king-size bed. The bathroom had nice amenities, inclouding a granite sink counter, fluffy white towels and toiletries; the shower was excellent. The hotel has a business center where you can check your e-mail (enter by using your room key); you can connect to the printer/fax in the business center from the high speed access on your personal computer in your room. There were a few negatives: loud train whistles that seemed annoying in the early evening but did not seem to bother our nightime sleep; a charge for local telephone calls; impersonal service at the check-in desk. Despite those minor criticisms, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

The Garden Inn at Grand Forks was clean, functional and close to the university. It is easily the nicest hotel in Grand Forks, however, it was a bit pricey for the area and size of the room and pool. The room is cozy - our family of four had two 2 queen bedded rooms. The pool was warm, but tiny. The hot tub was adequate size. The workout room was small, but usable. No breakfast is included, although there is a restaurant on premise. We didn't eat at the hotel as the Perkins was nearby and had good, inexpensive breakfasts. For HHONORS members, this hotel is a steal at only 10,000 HHONORS points a night. This hotel would be ideal for a single or couple.

I visited Grand Forks, ND in August 2006 and wanted a hotel near the campus as I was visiting a friend who lives nearby and is a student.

I stayed at the hotel on a Friday through Sunday and overall had a great stay.

The hotel has a nice indoor pool and whirlpool. The weigh room was just adequate, nothing fancy but a good selection of equipment for those wanting to get a work out in.

The lobby area is very nice and spacious with a nice bar area that is adjacent to the main lobby area. The dining room is also adjacent to the lobby area. The hotel offers a 'office' area wtih a computer, fax, color printer and copier that is available to guests.

There is also a laundry room with two washers and two dryers that are available for guests who may need to do laundry - these are the typical coin operated machines.

The breakfast we had in the restaurant was quite nice - a good selection of items. I just wished that since I paid $91 for a suite that a complimentary breakfast would be included for that price - instead the buffett costs $8.95 - otherwise you could order breakfast items fromthe menu.

I also had dinner there - a nice pice of Salmon for $20 with rice pilaf and vegtable.

The room was very nice, I stayed in a junior suite which has a separate sitting area and desk for workspace. There were two tv's - one in the sitting area, one in the bedroom. The bedroom had a king bed that was very comfortable with nice pillows. I slept great there. The hotel is only a half-block away from a train track that gets some frequent use - and there is asome horn blowing by the trains - but I enjoyed the sight of the trains and it was not terribly bothersome.

Overall I had an enjoyable stay with no problems what so ever to speak of. I would recomment this hotel.
