I had a business meeting in the Grand Forks area and booked this hotel based on its high reviews. I was pleasantly surprised that it did indeed live up to its billing. The staff was friendly at check-in and check-out, the room was clean and comfortable, internet access was easy and free (important for business trips), and the complimentary breakfast was above average when compared to similar hotels. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice play to stay in Grand Forks while on business.

We love to get away for a few days periodically to Grand Forks and check out the great shopping & restaurants! We returned to the Sleep Inn for numerous reasons...great service & staff (Patty was very helpful & friendly as are all the staff), the rooms are clean & modern with a fabulous king size bed. The included breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Nice pool and hot tub facility. The gym is a wonderful asset after partaking in the generous portions served at the various restaurants. It is so comforting to return to a place that is so consistently superb! Thanks Sleep Inn Staff! Until next time....

I chose this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews, it's rating of #1 in the Grand Forks area, and I've stated here previously. I'm wondering how it is rated #1. We go to Grand Forks on a regular basis due to our daugther attending UND. I've stayed at this hotel before, on a non-weekend night, and was located at the end of the floor. It was good so I decided, along with my reasons in sentence one, I booked here again.

Weekends are a different experience...

In my reservation, that was made directly on www.sleepinn.com, I requested a first floor, quiet room. I realize requests cannot always be met 100% but to place us first room next to the elevator on the third floor was unacceptable. The room had very thin walls and noise traveled easily. Along with hearing every noise and child running in the hallway, we could hear the people next door talking while we sat in bed.

The room was not the cleanest. The bathroom floor was dirty and the carpet in the 'living room' area was wet, like something was spilled on it.

The front desk staff was okay. It was a nice gesture of the front desk clerk to call us when our room was ready (it was not when we intiially arrived).

We didn't have breakfast so I cannot comment on that portion of the hotel, nor did we use any of the ammenties due to being a quick trip and the hotel being very busy with a lot of children.

I would not recommend this hotel on the weekends due to noise level and 'chaos'. It is quieter and a better hotel experience during the week.

Our goal is to make every experience a positive one for our guests. We apologize for overlooking your request as we are usually very diligent when it comes to meeting requests for specific rooms or amenities. Please contact me directly for your next stay and I will do my very best to place you in a room that fulfills your requests. We try to keep a quiet and comfortable environment for all of our guests and apologize if we failed to do so during your last stay. This past week the old girl and I decided to travel to Grand Forks, and chose this Hotel for our stay.
Our stay was good, hotel breakfast was great. Staff were friendly, Hotel is off from the shopping area.
which made it a quiet stay, only light traffic at night it seemed.
Pool was just right, not to big, water a little cool. The one thing I did not like was the room we had ,was the carpet was dirty, it needed a good shampoo. The room could have been a little cleaner over all.
Other wise I would give one more star.

Room Tip: look for coupon in ez market save a little cash

Very nice room king bed, would love to have a table to play cards, seems like many hotels are doing away with this. Beautiful walk in shower and big. Continental breakfast very good hot meal bacon and sausages. Great bath gels and shampoos. Next door to allerus arena .only thing wrong paper thin walls. We were on 2 floor and could hear kids yelling at pool. Decent size hot tub and walk in pool

Room Tip: As far from pool

Thank you for reviewing our property! We do have suite type rooms with one king bed and a pull out sofa that has a small table that would work well for playing cards! I apologize for the pool noise, we appreciate your patience and understanding. We will be happy to place you in a suite on the third floor for your next stay with us!

We just returned from spending 2 nights at the Sleep Inn Grand Forks April 3-5th.

The hotel is beautiful. All furniture is very modern & rooms are decorated nicely. Flat screen TV, fridge & microwave in every room. My only complaint would be that there wasn't a safe in the room to secure our items. This was the tail end of Canadian spring break and there was also some kind of basketball tourney on which made the hotel very busy with kids. The hallways were somewhat noisey with kids running & being loud late into the night going between rooms and from the pool, we had several people knocking on our door at various hours advising they obvioulsy had the wrong room.

Making the reservation was slow but pleasant. The reservation person neglected to add onto our file that we had a Spring Fever coupon when I called so there was a mix up on the rate at the initial check in time however that was straightened out quickly. Keys were also only keyed for 1 night instead of 2 so on Friday we couldn't get into our room - just an oversight & again fixed immediately with apologies. Front desk staff was professional & friendly & quick to resolve both of our small issues.

The pool is a bit small for the size of this hotel. Again, with many kids it was pretty busy. Pool area is clean and the hot tub was the perfect temperature.

Beds were comfy, good selection of pillows. Lots of towels and very clean.

Breakfast would be my only complaint and again, probably only due to it being so busy. I found it very chaotic. Staff had a very difficult time keeping up to the demands of the number of people in attendance at the included breakfast although they sure did their best. Many of the items were empty with people waiting - once the fresh food was brought out, those that were waiting dug in & left the trays empty once again for a new group to start the process all over again. There were not enough seats in the eating area & we found that many people resorted back to their room to eat. I'm sure the eating area is adequate at average capacity times. The quality of food was very good - bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits & gravy - waffles - juice, toast, oatmeal, yogurt etc...it was all there & it was all good.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. I found the 2nd night rate a bit steep at $159 however with the spring fever coupon on Thursday night of $75 it balanced out to a decent price. There an elevator in this 3 floor hotel for those with mobility issues and the TV channels are great for those with small kids which included Disney Junior which we have found lacking in other hotels.

Would definately recommend this hotel to others & would stay again in the future. Located on the parking lot of the Alerus centre it is close to the facility as well as shopping & restaurants. There is also a newly built Tim's & liquor store across from the CanadInn just across the street too - very convenient.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and honest review! We're grateful that you were patient and understanding with the sport group staying with us. We will discuss with our staff ways to keep the noise level down in the hallways when we have youth groups stay with us and how we can make all of our guests more comfortable on those busy weekends. I apologize for the confusion regarding your room rate, I'm glad to hear we were able to fix that for you at check in. We're happy that you were able to take advantage of the coupon in the Winnipeg Free Press, it is our way of saying thank you to our Canadian friends!

We have stayed at this hotel twice and both times have been very impressed. The hotel itself is perfect for our needs with a swimming pool, hot tub, exercise room, and breakfast every morning.

The excellent staff all go out of their way to make our visit as enjoyable as possible.

Heartily recommended.
