We have been camping at Ft. Stevenson State Park for going on 8 summers now. The park is full of lovely full grown trees and the camp sites range from singles to triple spots (places for 3 campers) with water & electricity. The new north loop has sewer hook ups as well and the spaces are huge, all with trees. The tent areas and even the 'overflow' (too many campers for all the sites) are all well kept and lovely.
Kids in the Guardhouse is a Satruday morning craft project for kids of all ages and Friday and Saturday night there is a program at the amphitheater.
The park boasts, not one but 2! marinas, nightly slip rental is available and 2 conscession stores. There are 3 boat ramps in the park and numerous trails for hiking and biking.
Skydance Kite Festival, Christmas in July, AquaPalooza and the Beach Party are some of our favorite weekends to be at Ft. Stevenson.
We've never had anything stolen from our campsite and our kids ride their bikes all over the park with (and without) us. I never worry about them.
Being only 3 miles from Garrison, which has a great grocery store, gas stations, hospital, etc. Ft. Stevenson makes your camping dreams come true!
