“Good place for dinner”

Nice decor, easy parking, good location and good dinner. Service was good but not overbearing. Pretty good selection on the menu and prices were typical. I would dine here again.

“Good setting and friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

We went for the Monday night half price wine. The prices are reasonable. The only thing is the wine red wine is served at room temperature. We had them ice down the red a little just to bring it down from the 75 degrees it may have been. The atmosphere is very nice and staff very friendly. We did not eat but everything that we saw being served looked wonderful.

“Disappointing food with a steep price!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014 via mobile

While the atmosphere was lovely and the food quite tasty, we thought the prices were steep for what you ordered. Overall it was just an "ok" restaurant, not what I had anticipated when I saw it was in the top choices for the area. A half chicken, some limp fries, and a 1/2 cup of coleslaw for $17 was not what we were expecting either. Next time we are in the area we'll try somewhere different.

“Food and Service both Top Quality at Doolittles”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2014 via mobile

Four of us ate at the Fargo Doolittles on Saturday night. It was very busy. Despite this, our waiter was attentive from the start, and did a wonderful job of engaging us while being sure we had everything we needed or wanted.

We ordered a Salmon Carpaccio appetizer to start. The Salmon was cold-smoked Pacific, served with a cream cheese dill sauce, capers and finely chopped onions. Delicate, delicious, and leaving us wanting more. The serving was generous and filled two of us. In fact, we could have stopped, but no- why would we? We shared the Walleye fingers, which were deep fried breaded, very similar to chicken fingers. They were served with a mayonnaise tartar sauce and lemon slice. If you are not familiar with Walleye, this dish would be a good choice as an introduction. It is a large appetizer, and certainly is a meal for one person. I did not care for the tartar sauce, but the fish was very moist and flavourful. The breading keeps it together; just add lemon.

My wife ordered the Jerk Pork and loved it. Meat was served quite rare with diced sweet potato and black beans and corn in what seemed like an overly sweet chutney base- mango? However the real star is the pork and it was delicious-- yes I had a piece.

I ordered the flank steak and it too was very flavourful. No steak knife required. Medium rare is about right. The horseradish potatoes were a good accompaniment, but the sautéed spinach was a little too raw and crisp for my liking. I love cooked spinach. I would ask them to really cook it down next time. The Hanger Steak was small in size, maybe 6-8 ounces. I am not at all complaining, it was perfect for our appetizer-laden table, but on its own it might be a little light for a hungry man.

The wings were ordered by our companion, and he said they were delicious-- they took a long time to come. A chicken sandwich and fries was the 4th dish, and it looked huge. We were told it was good!

I would easily return to this place. It is a chain, but the formula certainly works. The service was excellent, the food very, very good, and the atmosphere upscale casual. Prices very reasonable.

We were not able to try any desserts. We were stuffed.

We were staying in Fargo and decided to give this a try. We had the hanger steak and ribs. It was really good! The food was tasty and huge portions. Staff were excellent.

We would go again!
