Stayed here three nights for a conference. Was not looking forward it to it because of the average and negative reviews in Trip Advisor. This proves to me that all reviews are not always accurate. First, this is the only downtown Bismarck hotel great location. Stayed on 9 the floor.

Surprise got a real nice renovated room with up to date interior and nice features such as a large flat screen TV, granite counter tops, nice bathroom, sleep number bed etc. Bathrooms while not that large are NOT THAT small seen a lot worse (I really don't understand why they said that to be honest). Everything worked also. Heard some train noise but not much. I was near an elevator and there was some noise from that but not enough to be bothersome.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. So in my opinion NO WAY should this hotel be ranked near the bottom of Bismarck hotels. However if you stay here MAKE SURE you ask for a renovated room (most are now). Also I was in the wing facing the front of the hotel. That eliminates some of the train noise.

Room Tip: Ask for renovated room and room away from train noise.

The hotel is a little older, but they have upgraded the rooms. The bad news: The train. You can hear the train's horn late at night and early in the morning. A problem if you are used to uninterrupted sleep. On the plus side, the room has sleep number beds and comfortable pillows and the iHome clock will recharge your iPhone! Staff is outstanding - very friendly. I forgot my iPhone wall charger and one staff member offered to let me use hers for the length of my stay. Wow, that's hospitality. Late checkout is also available if you call the front desk the morning of your departure. Hotel is walking distance to hospitals and the downtown/restaurant area.

I stayed here for 3 nights for business in late September 2013. I have stayed at a lot of hotels all over the world, and this is probably the loudest hotel I've ever experienced. There is a train that runs it horn late in the night, as other posters have described. The worst part for me, though was the loud slamming of doors and seemingly paper-thin walls facing the hallway. Those doors need some work, for sure... The room across the hall from me was very loud (yelling, profanity, music, etc.) until about 4:00 a.m., even though I called the front desk around 1:00. Jerks, for sure, but I felt the hotel could have addressed it.

Aside from the noise, the hotel was fairly clean and the front desk staff were ok. My room's bathroom could probably use some updating, as the shower was dated and the toilet wobbled.

Sorry about the noise and train. We are getting a quiet rail system to take care of the train horn. I want to thank you for your review and hope to see you again. We are in the process of updating the rest of the rooms and they all should have a new look by end of the year. Thanks again.

Just spent 2 weeks here and feel that it's a great value for the location and all that they have to offer. The staff is friendly, the parking is free and rooms are clean and updated. I ate in the restaurant 10 times and the food was good every time. The area is great to shop and eat. Would gladly stay again if I'm in the area!

We stayed one night and were very pleased, especially with the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff. The room was on the small side, but very comfortable and clean. The property is conveniently located downtown, and the hotel guests park free in the adjoining garage. We had hoped to eat at the Toasted Frog, but they were closed for Labor Day; so the guy at the desk suggested the Blarney Stone, which was a short walk and very good. If our travels ever bring us through Bismarck again, we'll definitely stay here.
