This is a must visit place in Bismarck. I've been to the Blarney many times for drinks and appetizers. I have ordered food menu items a few times. I've always left there pleased with the service and content with my meal. The appetizers and drinks are good. My wife likes the Irish Thistle. The burgers are just alright. I've had the shrimp a few times and it has been good. The music and atmosphere is really fun and a nice place to hang out.
We went on a Sunday evening so the place was very quiet, but it was comfortable. They had a large black bar that really tied in with the brick walls for that Irish feel. The menu was huge and the food/drinks were good. Would like to see how the atmosphere changes on a weekend night- I'd imagine it gets pretty rowdy!
I had the smoked salmon and garlic/cheese/artichoke dip and it was far better than expected. Exceptionally really for a pub. I sampled 15 beers and most very very good and had unique beers including foreign and micro. The atmosphere is nice and there is an outside sitting area. Being right on Main Street makes it a great location. I stayed in the Fairfield Inn which was about a 10 minute walk.
Please stop in and try this place if your ever in town. The feel of this place immediately makes you feel like your in Dublin. Has a rustic feel, with great irish music/ irish drinks/ irish beer. The food is even that much better.. Always recommend the spinach dip, salmon lox and oh cant forget the irish breakfasts!! On sundays they have bloody Mary's that are out of this world. Whenever we have guests in town, this is a sure bet on bringing them here. Its open and spacious. You can sit on the east side of the resteraunt , that has an open garage to the outside. Awesome bartender, named Chris - whose always is a pleasure to conversate with. He is very informative on the beers. Beautiful fireplace room for a more quiet / intimate gatherings. And Great St. Patty's day parties. Also the location is awesome, as one can walk to other places downtown after your experience at the blarney!
