Sand bar created by last years flood is amazing. Sand is soft, which is great for the kids to play and dig. Great to be able to pull pontoon on Heart River side, so you don't have to worry about the current of the main river. You also receive great wind protection from all the trees at Ft Lincoln park. Had a lot of fun times this year (2012) at this sand bar.

Great walking paths. Awesome views. Plenty to do. The zoo is near there, parks, and sand volley ball. River offers a lot for everyone.

It's so peaceful along the river. We went during the early evening hours and walked a few miles before we realized.

There are a few spots along the river that are nice to swim at...it's a bit chilly but refreshing on a hot day! Shallow enough in spots for our kids to play in! The currents can be strong at times though!
