Having recently completed a 3-night stay here, I can only say that most of the harsh criticism is unwarranted. Is it the Taj Mahal? ...of course not, but if you do need a place to stay in this area, it can fit the bill adequately.
The back story on this property is that it was purchased about a year and a half ago from the bank and it was in dire need of attention. The new owners are making great strides, but Rome is not rebuilt in a day. The pool is incredibly clean and ready after significant upgrades including an ADA chair. The lobby and breakfast area are also brand new with a more than adequate breakfast offering, and a new computer. Rooms are dated but clean, and renovations are in progress a room or two at a time. The turn-around here is well underway.
Most importantly - the staff and management are eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Jerrett at the front desk will help with any details, and the GM Bob will do the best he can... but you have to let them know if there is something they can do. i.e. If the coffee butler is empty, or there is no raisin bread left... you need to let them know!!! They will promptly address it.More
