Being located in the Shell Island Resort on the "end" of this part of the coast, Shell Island Bistro is a great place to grab a bite. We had dinner and breakfast there.

Cindy and Jesse were terrific! The best part of the breakfast were the made to order omelets.

This isn't gourmet, but it was fresh and the portions were big.

My husband and I arrived at the Shell Island Beach Resort after a long drive. We were very hungry so we dropped off our bags in our beautiful north-end room which has views of the sound and the ocean. We went downstairs to the Bistro and found several fresh caught seafood specials written on the chalkboard as well as an extensive menu. We settled on an all seafood meal including seared scallops, calamari, crab & corn chowder, grilled swordfish and shrimp & grits. All of the seafood was cooked to perfection. Everything was juicy and tender as well as incredibly delicious. This was the best meal I have had in many years. Our server, Taylor, made it special for us and her service was great.
In the morning we went downstairs for the breakfast buffet which also had a waffle/omelet station. Guillermo cooked me a delicious omelet while my husband had the buffet of eggs, donuts, cereal & fruit. Our server, Jessie, was the only server in the room this morning and she did an outstanding job. She never let our beverages get low and our coffee was always hot. As we were leaving Jessie arrived with our check and two extra cups of coffee for us to take back to our room.
We have been very impressed with the Bistro and its staff. We look forward to many more meals during our 5 night stay at the resort.

We visited in part because of an Attractions Book coupon, but we'll be back frequently. The shrimp poor boy sandwich was filled with succulent shrimp and the spices were piquant without being painful. The crab cake sandwich was soft and there was real crab in it. The remoulade was perfectly flavored, and it was topped with arugula, tomato and some red onion-it was as pretty as it was tasty.

Meghan served us cheerfully and professionally and even split a signature drink the Long "Beach" Ice Tea-it was totally delicious. She suggested fries instead of chips ($1 extra) and it was money well spent-they were yummy with another unique seasoning.

Cloth napkins are a dozen steps above paper napkins which get soaked and/or fly away in the breeze.

We ate on the patio overlooking the beach and it appears all the furniture is new this year.
We were delightfully surprised and everything exceeded our expectations.
Well done, Shell Island.

We lunched here twice during a two-week stay in Wrightsville Beach in July 2014. We have stayed at the Shell Island Resort several times in the past as well.
Our experiences here this time were excellent! No matter where you sit you have a dynamite view of the beach and ocean--no high dunes here to hide the waves. Our two waitresses, Kayln and Brittany were both superb! Our food choices came as ordered and were very tasty.
My excellent rating is not meant to say that this is a fine dining experience--it is a rating that compares this restaurant to other "beach food with a view" places. Very good food and excellent service, and a view to die for!

The breakfast is great with lots of choices. Also, the lunch menu is good for the price. The dinner menu was great, and the food at all times was great tasting. Not at all pricey.
