“Worth the Trip and Time - We will be back!”
Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

We came by on a Tuesday afternoon in May and were there for about an hour and 30 minutes. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back. We like that the museum is made from a 1909 Wrightsville Beach cottage. The cottage is furnished to look like it used to - furniture, clothes, etc. We got to see and touch the 1910 wool bathing suits, which was neat. We watched the PBS documentary about Lumina. It was interesting and I'm glad we watched it, but it was longer than we expected. Overall, I'd say this is a great place to visit to learn more about the history of Wrightsville.

“Free and informative!”
Reviewed April 13, 2013 via mobile

Cute little house with lots of artifacts, pictures and info. The kitchen was my favorite! Knowledgeable staff person onsite, few shirts for sale, great porch, free parking, great quick stop in Wrightsville! Recommend.

“It's like going back in a time machine!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

We loved our visit to this museum. When you go be sure and have a seat in the living room and ask them to play the 30 minute PBS documentary on Wrightsville Beach's Lumina. What wonderful stories and information. Hollywood really need to do a movie about this place, it would be as big as the Titanic movie! After learning about the Lumina I became in love with its history. This museum really demonstrates how people flocked to this beach during the early 1900's and on toward the 50's. it really makes you feel like you're going back in time and experiencing it for yourself, now that folks is the effect you should get at a museum!

“Small But Packed With History”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Love this little museum. You won't spend more than an hour there, but in that time, you'll learn tons about the island. They've done a great job of showing the now and then and you can get a good sense of what it was like back when.

Staff is super friendly and knowledgable. They love what they do and can answer most questions. Highly recommend you stop by on your way in or out.
