Tucked back into an established residential neighborhood, Diamondback Grill is something of an anomaly among restaurants. While you may find local residents and their canine friends sitting street-side taking a break from an evening walk, inside you will find white linen tablecloths and an eclectic mix of folks ranging from college students toasting graduation to folks looking for a good meal before attending a symphony or POPS performance. In addition to nightly specials, Diamondback offers a very large menu that can satisfy virtually anyone whether they want a nice selection of generous appetizers, salads (with or without additional protein), sandwiches, or a full course meal. The staff is friendly and willing to accommodate individual requests. In general the food is good and well prepared, although on a recent visit a fish entree was both overcooked and seemed past its peak.
Two things I find below par are the fact that recently a tip of 20% was automatically added to a party of six, which was totally unnecessary, honestly did not work in the waitperson's best interest, and was quite off-putting to our fellow diners; and that the seating is not particularly comfortable...banquets are lumpy and too low, and wooden chairs are...well...wooden chairs and not particularly comfortable ones at that!
