This is not the normal restaurant you'll find in Winston Salem, if you like Mediterranean cuisine you,ll like this place. Good food, good prices (cor it's downtown location), good service combine to make a very good restaurant. I could have eaten a bucket full of the pearl cous cous and a nice selection of craft beers.

Mooney's is a nice casual little restaurant on the end of 4th street. The ambiance is very laid back and relaxed. They often have live music, usual a solo or duo act playing something mellow or jazzy in the corner. It's the kind of place with little vases with a fresh flower but not the kind of place with table clothes. The food is fresh, light, and flavorful. Prices are very reasonable for downtown and the portions are generous. The sample plate is a great introduction if you've not had Mediterranean food before. The service was prompt and friendly. I highly recommend!

I was impressed with the flavorful Mediteranean dishes and was thankful that there was a Sampler plate so I could try four of them for $9. My husband loved his burger and my daughter loved her chicken pita!

Great food that will be new to you unless you generally eat Middle Eastern food. I ordered the sampler platter, you get to pick four items from a list. The falafel and eggplant dish I had were outstanding. I rarely seek out vegetarian dished, but I did not miss the the meat. There are several meat selections available, though (including burgers). I will make it a point to go more often.

I love this place, great food, unpretentious presentation, tasty beer and wine list, with fresh made Hummus and Falafel of course, but it's the daily specials I love best.
Family owned and localvore conscious.
In fact I think I'll go there now!
