“Great brunch experience!”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Our brunch was a terrific experience from start to finish. The menu was so great that we had trouble deciding what to choose. Our waitress was wonderful. And the food we did order was excellent. I had a quiche special with the pear salad - fantastic! We will definitely be back when we're in the area.

“Best Tavern!”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

A must when visiting Olde Salem! I had a bacon cheeseburger with the best potato salad ever, my friend had the chicken salad sandwich. The ginger bread/lemon ice cream dessert and and apple dumpling/ice cream were some of the best desserts on our trip. Brad, our server was genial and helpful working with my dietary restrictions. We did not have reservations, but the wait was only 20 minutes...well worth the time!

“Delicious and very reasonably priced”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

I loved the fried green tomatoe club and burbon pecan chocolate pie. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. The prices were VERY reasonable. If there is a wait, give your name and go see some more sights. Come back when your wait is done. Enjoy!

“Great food and charm at the Tavern”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

We stumbled onto the Tavern by chance during an early evening stroll around Old Salem. Dessert menus, displayed on blackboards out on the porch, tempted us to take a closer look at the general menu and we were sold. Although we didn't have a reservation a table for two was available. The restaurant has an old world feel, the service was excellent and our food ( black angus rib-eye and tomato and goat cheese pie) was delicious. Of course we ended the evening with a slice of bourbon chocolate pecan pie. Good value for money and would recommend to anyone visiting Old Salem.

“Back in history”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

We have been to the a Tavern on several occasions while visiting in Winston Salem. We enjoy the quaint town of Old Salem and this old tavern. The service is always pleasant and helpful when questions are asked about the menu. The ambience is enhanced by candle lite tables. When it is full it can get a bit loud but this has really not been a concern . Highly recommend their warm pecan pie! We always find this tavern a real pleasure !
