A trip to Old Salem is not complete with stopping by and strolling through God's Acre. There is a peacefulness about this place.

God's Acre is an old cemetery at the end of Old Salem. Grave markers are interesting to read as they described the individuals buried back then. Many were from other countries especially Germany. The cemetery is quite large and has sidewalks throughout. Take your time and enjoy this on a pleasant spring or fall day.

This is a graveyard dating back to the early days. You have amazing views of downtown and is worth a stroll! Especially in fall!

I love it here.

It's weird, but I walk through here on my lunch breaks at least once a week since I work near it and I find something new every day. It's peaceful and tells a history of Winston Salem.
